Welcome to Marvel Heroes! Our newest site wide plot encompasses a bit of Marvel's Civil War story line, however we are not just copying it! In fact, very little of what will happen here will be similar to the comics themselves. It's no fun just to regurgitate what someone else did. We want creativity and adventure, "what if" twists and lots of conflict! We invite you to join in the adventure, choose a side or try to stay neutral of the Mandatory Registration Act.
A new dawn is upon us, and with it new challenges for all our heroes and villains alike. Another darkness lay waiting to take advantage of the heroes disarray and the mutants distrust. This darkness has no face, but looms over America like a storm that will bring an end to the world as we know it. Nothing will ever be the same once this storm passes, and it is unknown when or if it ever will. Are the heroes ready? Is America ready? Are you? Stay tuned as soon the "shot heard 'round the world" begins to change the face of those we knew as heroes and villains forever.

"Oh, do spare me the talk about treating people with decency, Eternal. People had always treated those they do not understand as slaves, look to the arenas where Witchbreeds are forced to fight each other. The so called normal people hate and fear me and yet they beg for my devices." The Alchemist snorted with disgust.
"Given a chance, they shall turn against you also but only after the Mermen invasion is thwarted. Maybe Xavier can aid you or maybe he cannot. We don't actually see eye to eye. No matter, i can't hold you anyway since you will probably destroy every golem sent against you. However know that there are other avenues of information besides Xavier's school and if you so desire, i can help you on your quest."
Blazing Skull - Golden Age Hero « Result #2 Today at 3:32am »
Name: [/b]Mark Anthony Todd
Super Hero/Villain Name: The Blazing Skull
Gender: Male
Age: 99 Years old at least, Mark stopped aging after he hit the age of 25.
General Appearance: As Mark -
As Blazing Skull –
Personality: The Wise-Cracking skull-headed Invader with the hobby of beating in villainous faces. Though Mark has endured quite a bit in the decades when he traveled to and from Europe to fight Nazi’s, Mark’s mind couldn’t endure where the rest of his body succeeded. Though notorious for some clever or deranged words, they somehow only add to his charm. Originally Mark Todd had fought during WWII in order to cease all the violence, however these adventures lead Todd to realize that there would always be fighting and had chosen to embrace it with more enthusiasm.
No longer the pacifism, even having forgotten what the term has meant, Mark is still a good natured, and damn well dependable hero with the mild insanity aside. He also appears to get mildly upset when enemies fail to aim at his head, as well as when he has to regenerate extensive bone and flesh tissue damage which he has explained as ‘drives him crazy’. Mark actually dislikes his birth name, having created aliases such as ‘Steve Valiant’ and ‘Richard Stetson’. He has taken a liking to being called Blazing Skull, though for a time he confessed that he had begun to wonder if ‘Koos’ which is a derogatory term meaning ‘Dog’ was actually his real name due to prolonged imprisonment.
Occupation: Unemployed Reporter and Journalist, Adventurer, Professional Hero, ‘Indestructible Madman’.
Super Power: -Strengths: Long ago, a young Mark Todd was assigned by the Daily Globe to cover the Sino-Japanese conflict, however here he found a race of super-intellegent subterranean Skull-men. They nursed him to health and showed him kindness, and in return he vowed to be their beacon of justice and hope in the world. By the time he had returned to civilization he had been taught in their ways, and upon graduating from their teachings he was given a skull-mask of his own so he could exercise what they had taught him. In time, however, this mask saturated and was absorbed into Mark’s flesh and body.
Super Strength: After prolonged use in his war against…war, the mask and the abilities it bestowed had grown greater and greater. Come the modern age, Mark had become sufficiently strong enough to lift a fully loaded tank with little effort. Even before then, The Blazing Skull was strong enough to contend with men more than twice his size and was capable of knocking them square off their feet, and into cold unconsciousness. Mark Todd can lift 10 tons at the very least, it is possible he may be able to lift up into the 15 ton range, or higher since his limited have yet to have been tested. Though it’s doubtful he contends with heavier hitters, having been knocked around by She-Hulk for off-panel, but he has been capable of knocking over the Giant Woman.
Peak Physical Fitness: With his great strength aside, Blazing Skull is actually quite nimble and athletic. In his early years Mark was able to steer torpedoes underwater, leap onto passing trains, and take long drops with no injury even before his superhuman strength manifested itself. Though not a trained or accomplished acrobatic of any kind, Mark is capable of rolling out of harms way.
Danger Sense: Sometime later in the Blazing Skull’s career, he had developed something of a Danger Sense, Though it doesn’t appear to be as effective as Peter’s Spider-Sense. Mark has only used this once, which resulted in throwing some giant man over his head like a doll.
Imperviousness to Flame: The degrees of this have not been explored, much like many of his abilities. However It is possible that Mark Todd’s ability to resist flame is on par with that of the Human Torch, especially considering his head and body would be totally covered in mystic flames if it weren’t for his specially made costume.
Fire Projection: While he’s certainly no Human Torch, His hands are effectively flamethrowers. Each hand can produce a concentrated torrent of fire forth around 40 yards, similar to that which WWII Flamethrowers were capable of. The heat of this fire is unknown, however considering the magic/mystic nature of Mark’s abilities, it is possible that they contain a magic attribute which may prove troublesome to gear that is proofed against normal flames.
Immortality: Since he hit his twenties, He has ceased aging completely. Mark is a True Immortal, thanks to the absorption of his Skull Mask. As a consequence, he carried the burden that he won’t be able to get attached or settle down with anyone due to the nature of his being. It would just be too much to bear.
Regenerative Healing Factor: A popular power now a days, but you won’t find some ‘mutant’ tag attached to this one. Aside from his strength, Mark Todd’s healing factor may in fact be greater than Logans. Perhaps not nearly as fast, It is still quite fast, and extremely capable. Mark has proven that he not only need a complete head to function or speak, but his healing factor is perfectly capable of regenerating a new head in it’s entirety. In addition to complete limb regeneration, this healing factor Is likely capable of healing most if not all injuries on his organs and other sensitive parts of his body. He has taken possibly thousands of bullets without so much as batting an eye, he’s been stabbed through the chest, completely decapitated, had his right forearm and left leg under the knee amputated and yet he still manages to recover in moments.
Superhuman Durability: While he’s certainly not bulletproof, He has managed to withstand heavy traumatic blows that would likewise knock out an average human being. When faced with a plummet from a helicopter onto the metal deck of a ship, the floor dented mildly around the shape of his smacking head. It is possible that his bones, and maybe even his flesh are considerably denser than human tissue but it’s doubtful he’s bulletproof.
Accomplished Hand to Hand Combatant: While not being the foremost master of hundreds of martial arts, none can refute his years of experience. With no formal training, Mark was left to his own wits. With over 60 years of experience in fighting WWII villains, it’s wise not to underestimate this hero’s improvised fighting style, because it’s his cunning and not his elegance you should be worrying about. Mark is also quite resourceful and willing to use any potentially lethal weapons if the situation calls for it.
-Weaknesses: Despite his victory over his own insanity, his mental state will always be in question. It’s an easily exploitable attribute, especially if someone engages him in an argument which they can use it as a short leash to attempt to disprove anything he says. Another repercussion of this is he is unpredictable, though in some ways this can be helpful, but in others it might just come off as awkward in a setting where it might not be wanted. In addition, Mark’s immortality and healing factor often make him reckless, even making light of potentially life threatening situations [though it’s unlikely it threatens his life at all]. He also probably has difficulty adjusting to the new time, as he’d been in a hole for a decade and has little idea why all this stuff with registering and whatnot is going on. He is also prone to make errors, takes his time just a little bit too long all because he knows he literally has all the time in the world. Being isolated from the hero community has also left him with few ties as well, and is completely unaware that he has a niece, nevermind that she, Voletta Todd, is in fact a villainess.
-Power Gained By: Originally simply a highly athletic male with a skull mask. Blazing Skull’s powers come from that very same mask he was given by the subterranean Skull-Men. The Mask symbolizes the Skull-Men’s very own discipline and teaching, which was to remind them not to be mislead by physical features. Though this mask was absorbed in Mark’s flesh, which lead to radical shifts in his powers and abilities, probably bringing him that much closer to the Skull-Men who had trained him.
Abilities: Expert Journalist Advanced Investigator Accomplished Pilot Formidable Martial Artist [Explained Above]
Weapons: His Fists
Team Affiliation: The Invaders, The Avengers.
Brief History: [Firstly I’d like to site my source of this entry, Marvel.com, While I could very well re-write the history in my own words which I have done time and time again, It would change little of what I already know. Like I said, I’ll use this History and if there is a problem I’ll write it with no problems. ^^]
Mark Anthony Todd was born October 7, 1910 in Cleveland, Ohio. As he grew up he became a pacifist and went on to become a freelance reporter in the 30s. On his fist assignment Todd was sent to Japan were he found a race of super-intelligent Skull-Men. They accepted Todd and taught him occult secrets and gave him a burning mask. In return for their kindness and he vowed to the Skull-Men to be a beacon of hope and justice as the Blazing Skull. Todd then went to Germany where he joined an anti-nazi movement. He however was captured by Nazi agents and was brought before Adolf Hitler. He somehow managed to escape and traveled to London where he saved Winston Churchill's life from Nazi mercenaries.
Todd then returned to the United States and resumed his reporter job with the Daily Globe. Still using the guise of Blazing Skull he continued to fight threats such as Big Joe and Doctor Fear. In 1942 he joined the Invaders to battle Battle-Axis. After the fight with Battle-Axis he joined the Invaders and other wartime heroes in a battle behind enemy lines.
In January of 1945 the Skull returned to New York and foiled a plot by Nazi agents as they tried to blow up the Statue of Liberty. Their leader, the Masked Raider fled the scene, but vowed to return to make the Skull pay for his interference. Wanting more information on the story his editor at the Daily Globe sent him to London where he encountered the Iron Cross, who was filming a missile test. As the Skull and Iron Cross began to fight, Union Jack joined the Skull and the two managed to cause the Iron Cross to retreat to Germany. After the battle Union Jack helped the Skull by contacting the Destroyer in Germany. After that Jack flew the Skull behind enemy lines where Skull parachuted into Germany.
The Destroyer greeted the Skull, and the two were found by Nazi soldiers. To deceive the Nazis, the Destroyer knocked the Skull unconscious and handed him over to the Nazis. Todd was then brought before Iron Cross and Nazi scientists who revealed their plan to use homing beacons in order to tactically bomb the United States. During this time the Destroyer was caught sabotaging the missiles. He was brought before the Iron Cross and managed to free the Skull who along with the Destroyer managed to stop the Nazis and blow up the Iron Cross. Todd returned to America and gave his story to his editors, who couldn't believe how lucky he was. However the threat wasn't over yet when the Masked Raider returned and tried to bomb the White House. Todd stopped the Masked Raider, who turned out to be a radio show host. However the missiles had been launched and the Skull commandeered a prop plane and rammed it into a missile, saving the White House.
After the war had ended Todd became a newspaper columnist and urged the American people to support more military action overseas. Realizing that he had not aged in decades he returned to being the Blazing Skull. He used various aliases such as Steve Valiant and Richard Stetson. There are little or no records of his activities during the following decades. Eventually he was declared dead.
During the Kree/Skrull War Rick Jones powers manifested themselves and he manifested various golden age superheroes. Among them was the Blazing Skull. The Skull managed to fight off several Skrulls and Kree soldiers until Ricks' powers failed and the heroes were sent back to wherever they originated from.
Todd then recently showed up in the Middle East and taken into custody of a terrorist known as Malik for years. He was ritualistically beaten and tortured each day by urinating on him and beating him senseless. One day U.S.Agent aka John Walker freed Todd from his prison and asked him to join the new Invaders alongside Spitfire, Union Jack, and Tara. Todd accepted and aided the Invaders in an attack involving Atlantis. The team aided Namor and added him to their ranks. Together the Invaders invaded Mazikhandar and came into conflict with the Avengers. The Skull recognized Captain America and greeted him as a fellow Invader, forming a somewhat steady alliance between the New Invaders and the Avengers. After the skirmish a cruel politician shot the current leader of Mazikhandar and took control of the country. However the Thin Man showed up and killed the politician. Mazikhandar became a protectorate of Atlantis and the Invaders added Thin Man to their ranks. The Two teams parted ways and left each other on semi-good terms.
Weeks later several cloned terrorist creatures called Pterorists attacked the Jim Hammond. Luckily the Invaders arrived and saved Jim. However the true motive of the Invaders saving Jim was to ask for the V-Battalions help. Jim accepted their help and along with the Thin Man's ship the Infiltrator, its captain the Fin battled Axis Mundi. During the battle against Axis Mundi aboard the Infiltrator the Nazi the Gotteskrieger impaled the Skull with a spear and ripped off his head. During the battle fellow Invaders fought Axis Mundi agents, Baroness Blood, Warrior Woman, and Meranno. During the battle the Skull managed to pick himself up and revive himself even without his head. The Skull was a major factor in the Invaders winning the battle when the Skull took down the Gotteskrieger.
Days later the Destroyer and his friend Nigel encountered Vampires in Germany who were sent after a small town by Baroness Blood. The Invaders learned of this and sent Union Jack, Spitfire, Tara, and Jim Hammond who eventually defeated Baroness Blood. Weeks later Baron Strucker, the leader of Hydra sent a mind controlled Wolverine to attack the Invaders. During their first clash the Skull apparently recognized Wolverine and called him "Charlie", whether they truly have met before or it is just the Skulls mental instability is unknown. However during a clash between the Skull and Wolverine, Logan sliced off the Skulls left arm and leg. U.S.Agent then told the Skull to heal and managed to stop Wolverine before he could kill Namor. As the Skull flew the injured Invaders away Logan was sent on another mission by Hydra.
Days later the Thin Man managed to capture Agent Axis and started to psychically torture them in order to get information from them. While the Thin Man tried to get information from Agent Axis, U.S.Agent and Blazing Skull watched Union Jack sketch a nude Tara. Enraged at their attitude Hammond and Spitfire chewed out Skull and Union Jack. However in order to "help" Jack with his sketches the Skull started to strip, showing his naked skeleton body. Grossed out Hammond and Walker forced Todd to redress himself. Captain America then tried to shut the Invaders down by infiltrating the Infiltrator. The Captain and the Thin Man fought for a few minutes before becoming aware of a plot by Meranno. The team along with Captain America intercepted Meranno and a fight broke out on a secluded island. There the team learned that Tara was an Axis Mundi sleeper agent. During the fight that followed Jim Hammond sacrificed his life in order to save Tara. However Tara became comatose and the Invaders continue to search for a way to save Tara from her comatose state.
Other Information: Blazing Skull is not to be mistaken by the more well known skull-headed figure, Ghost Rider. While both are fairly old, Blazing Skull predates the Ghost Rider and was probably quite influential on his design, especially in the 1945 issue of Midnight Sons #9, the cover of which was notable for being done by Syd Shores. It should be further noted that despite the similarities, Blazing Skull is not tied to the Spirits of Vengeance, nor will he ever be. Blazing Skull originally debuted in Mystic Comics #5 and continued to the last issue. He was also featured in Invaders v3 and more recently New Invaders #0 - #9.
Also, in regards to the part of the history where Mark calls Wolverine ‘Charlie’, he wasn’t calling Wolverine Charlie, he was calling out the surname he had invented ‘ Charlie Tuna’ after he had discovered the Atleantean had been killed by Wolverine.
I also read somewhere that I had to choose a popular character? I'm not sure how popular he is, but he's had his own run in Mystic Comics and he's been brought into the Invaders more than once so I'd assume that he might have enough exposure to constitute as a popular character. Sure he never really got to show up much after the civil war/dark reign but he should have.
Sample Role Play
First day of job searching and it was already proving to be a rough day.
After being turned down by several large media outlets for his position as journalist, he had encountered something like 20 or so SHIELD Agents and pro-registration heroes. What was that all about, he already got his car registered and it only took him 3 months to get his license. Of course, Mark knew it was much more than that – the United States he had known had become terribly complicated, though at it’s core everything was the same.
If only…
“If only they hadn’t destroyed my car, well I guess it’s what I get for resisting I suppose.” Mark sighed as he walked down a sun-parched sidewalk in the streets of new york, wearing his old blue suit as he adjusted his tie, it was just hot out, he could feel the sun reflecting off his bald head.
“Well, today couldn’t get any worse…” he’d sigh, though really he wasn’t very bent out of shape with all the fighting – hell it was pretty exciting even if it was confusing, not even losing his car was that bad. He just really hated living like this, he could barely get an odd-job here and there, all this pro-registration crap was getting on the veteran heroes last nerve which was the very thing that kept him from trying to pick up life anew. Suddenly he would hear screaming, it was a womans of course – rarely did you hear a man squeal in the face of a criminal act.
Mark chuckled to himself at the thought.
Quickly he sprung forward, his legs taking long strides as he made way towards the crime in progress. He yanked off his tie, as his skin began to turn invisible in uneven layers at the same time the flames began to fan forth, as if his body was just bursting into flames.
“C’mon lady, gimme that purse ya got, babe! Just nrgh, Let Go!” The man would then sock the woman in the face, giving her a good shiner as he managed to tug it free from her pain stricken grip. As he stood and turned to run, flames jet forth faster than his feet could carry him, and created a wall of flames. The thief's feet hoped up one after the other, hotfooting as he turned to see him.
“Where you goin’? Didn't think you were gonna sneak out on me, did ya? Musta Crit. Failed” He’d remark, as he stood there – buck naked, though luckily all anyone could see was a skeleton that was on fire. The man turned, dropping the purse as he reached for a gun. Mark began to approach, stepping over the woman. The purse-snatcher’s breath was fast and hard, his heart was probably thumping up against his throat. As he pulled out the pistol, light reflecting over the smooth gunmetal black finish as there came a ‘Blam!’ and a ‘Bang’!
The woman was safe alright, as the bullets harmlessly found their way into The Blazing Skull’s body “Oh, don’t be like that. You asked for it, and also you owe me a new suit.” Soon there was only mere feet between them as the other man swallowed “What- Who are you?!” He’d cry, and as Mark socked him in the face, driving him into the ground hard, he’d grin…well as much as he could without a visible pair of lips “Call me the Blazing Skull…Heh.”

Re: How to hold a Mall hostage (Invite) « Result #3 Yesterday at 7:21pm »
The speedster thought he had the upper hand now that he had a young hostage, that this was the a negotiation tool he needed to get Rook to surrender, not realising exactly what Brian could do. The young boy smirked before falling to his knees, crying out for mercy. "Please, sir! Let me go! I didn't do anything, I'm just a kid.." He whaled, unable to get a clear sentence out. The speedster rolled his eyes, finding the young boy pathetic, as he continued crying. "Ugh.. Stop your crying!"
Brian turned himself around, now facing the speedster, still being held by the hair. Though the he cried out in fear, the expression on the young boy's face wasn't fear, even though tear residue could be seen on his cheeks. Brian gave a smirk, before thrust his foot out, kicking the speedster in the forbidden regions, causing him to release Brian's hair, and fall to the floor in agonizing pain. Brian rose up onto his feet, looking down at the speedster as he was in a feeble position. "That's for pulling my hair!" The young boy gave one last thrust into the man's side. He bent over the man, with his hands on his waist,And that's for.. Well, I just don't like you."
The man growled as he laid there, curled up like a ball. "Rotten punk, I'll kill you.." Brian huffed as he shrugged, "Whatever, take care!" He chuckled and began his search for Rook. Brian continued running through the mall, searching for his friend. A strong gust of wind brushed by, causing the young boy to almost lose his balance. "What?!" Brian looked around, wondering what caused the strong force, before long a powerful impact was made on the young boy. With the air knocked out of him, he fell to his knees, his arms wrapped around his stomach, gasping for air.
The same blur passed by, but this time Brian was able to get a true glance of it, before a strike in the face. The speedster had made a come back. Every time Brian attempted to get up, the speedster would dash by, kicking him in the side. "Not so tough now, are you boy?" The speedster's voice echoed throughout the mall.
Brian laid on the ground, taking the beating, knowing that the speedster had the upper advantage. The mutant picked Brian up by the collar of his shirt, so sure of himself. "You had enough?" The young paper master did not reply, nor react. The speedster gave a smirk, enjoying the boy's defeat. "I've got you now.." Within an second multiple paper tentacles emerged from the boy's clothing, knocking the speedster back a few feet.
The speedster was taken by surprise, not realizing he was up against a mutant. Brian faced the speedster, his paper tentacles waving around in every direction. The speedster jumped to his feet and charged at the paper master, being knocked into a wall by one of the tentacles. "That won't work anymore."
The speedster wiped away the small amount of blood from his mouth, giving the boy a disturbing smile. "Well then, I can't get close to you, I'll have to try a different approach." With that the speedster charged again and flew past Brian and began circling him at a high speed. Brian was unable to land a blow, and could feel the air diminishing. He grabbed his own throat. gasping for air. The speedster was created a vacuum, like a tornado, sucking the air from Brian's lungs.
Brian fell to his knees, losing consciousness. Everything began to grow blurry and fade into black. He fell face first into the floor, unconscious. The speedster came slowed himself down, and approached the fallen mutant, watching as the sheets of paper on his body, begin to fall apart, scattering across the floor. He kicked the boy in the side, seeing if he were truly unconscious, but there was no reaction from him. "Hmph.. Well then, so much for that."
The speedster could feel the paper beneath his feet begin to shake and ruffle. "What the?!" Before he could react, the sheets of paper formed spikes and grew upwards, stabbing deep within the speedster's body, lifting him off the ground. The speedster let out a painful scream, as his blood poured to the floor. Brian slowly began to push himself off the ground, his eyes were now giving off a silver glow, and the expression on his face was blank, his eyes were empty.
The speedster cussed out the young boy, then noticed the look within his eyes. "Please, I'm sorry.. Let me go, I'll leave." Brian just stared with the blank expression, showing no sign of sympathy. The young boy placed his hand on the speedster's abs, and in an instant sheets of paper began to pour out of his sleeves and entering the helpless mutant's body. The speedster let out an agonizing scream that could be heard all over the mall.
The sheets of paper was shredding the man from the inside out. A river of blood poured out from the man, most of it splashing across Brian's face, without him reacting. The speedster's screams came to an end as his eyes grew dim and lifeless. Before long the paper within the man's body cut him into multiple pieces, falling into the pool of blood. Brian stared at the remains of the once speedster, still not showing emotion.
Many of those within the mall witnessed the horrid event, causing them to scream in terror.

Rook smirked and put his hand behind his head "Well yes I may have followed you, but it was out of fear for your safety is all cause if you were going to do something stupid not that you would but with all the recent craziness it's better to have backup" explained Rook as he stood there filling like he'd done something wrong to the kid's privacy.
He then looked around briefly and then turned back to Brian "And honestly I had nothing better to do anyway" Rook said with a laugh "So what shall we do now that the audition went so well, you wanna celebrate it somehow" suggested Rook as he searched his pockets for money.
He pulled out a fairly big woad of cash and then smiled widely "I guess being a teacher of mutants pays you better then a normal teacher" joked Rook as he put the cash back in his pockets, "So what do you wanna do in celebration mate, it's my shout and it's your choice" expressed Rook as he waited for Brian to make a choice on what he wanted to do before going back to school.

As morph turned back to the mutant he had jumped on he felt a powerful blast hit him and sent him fling across the floor. he hit the ground a few feet away he could see into the book store now, the people looking on in shock. He looked around and saw both the xmen battling the two other mutants. Morph rose up to see the mutant that hit him standing across energy pulsating around them. Morph rushed this mutant dodging blast after blast finally connecting with a tackle sending both of them into a wall.
The force of the collision caused some of the wall to give way and send them into the toy store behind it. Morph reached for the mask that covered their face to reveal a young female mutant.
Morph who's fist was raised to attack hesitated now second guessing his attack was blasted once more when her eyes opened this time sending him into the ceiling. The force sent him through that also now he was in a Hot Topic store, tons of Goth type clothing surrounded him he looked through the hole he just made to see he charging up another attack.
His eyes widened as he narrowly dodged the attack. He took a moment to run out and hop over rail and back to the floor. He recharged into the hole they made he leaped and turned into a huge brown wolf, leaping into the air and on the female mutant.
