BRIGGS CALLS FOR EQUALITY
report by Jessica Jones
Jeremy Briggs, CEO and founder of Briggs Chemical LLC, held a press conference today in Manhattan. His purpose was seemingly to alert the public there is is, or should be, a different way for humanity to coexist with super-powered individuals.
"Remember that big super-powered fight that devastated cities, killed a whole bunch of people and changed absolutely nothing? Which one, am I right? They happen about every couple of months, caused by people with to much power and no sense," Briggs touted to an entranced media.
"The people need to stand up and say 'No more!' These battles are costing us billions and they never seem to solve anything. The bad guys are never caught and the so-called heroes walk away from their devastation to leave the rest of us to clean up after them. This is not right."
Briggs lamented the billions of dollars New York has had to pay alone for the multitude of "crises" that the Avengers and their allies have attended.
"Couldn't this money be better spent on your children's educations? Why do we have to keep footing the bill for their messes?"
The Mayor's office did not have on hand the exact amount of money the city has spent in repairs after encounters between super-powered individuals, but their representative responded that "Mr. Briggs estimation is not overzealous. If anything he is probably underestimating the cost since the Avengers and Supers arrived on the scene."
Briggs finished his press conference with these words. "I wish that there were no super-powered people or aliens who came in and ran over the rest of us. I wish that the world could be full of individuals, all equal to one another in accountability....
There shouldn't be 'Heroes'. There should just be 'People'."
