This might be useful for coherency’s sake and to keep Mods and Players alike aware of some of the shenanigans or hijinks that might have been proffered in any given thread so that people are aware of important details or events that affect a particular faction going in. (Sorry if that’s hard to follow.) So you’d likely need one for each good guy faction so that we know what pitfalls or recent events might be waiting or have occurred, etc.
As an example of something that has happened in a thread not all may know about: Recently the X-Mansion was hit by a rocket attack that killed 42 students and was briefly attacked by Omega Red. (The death of 42 students at the Mansion should be a big deal. Hence it would be useful for anyone making X-Men threads around this timeframe to be aware of that fact.)
Also, as a result: The X-Mansion’s interior computer security, alongside that outside on the grounds has been beefed up accordingly, ideally to prevent such an occurrence from easily happening again. (Obviously this doesn’t cover every eventuality.) The general state of things is that no-one outside of Rowan Hawthorne (at the moment) has unfettered access to X-Mansion security, sans being there and being one of the people responsible for the school. (Ie. Storm, Cyclops, Xavier, Jean and possibly others) Also, in addition to the security protocols already on Cerebro that keep an ‘as used’ catalogue of who is using Cerebro, under the influence of Madelyne Grey-Summers, Rowan has been coerced into creating a booby trap that can presently be activated on Cerebro while it’s in use.
And etc. The goal being to make the given faction’s (Avengers, X-Men, etc.) current events more coherent, so people aren’t just walking all over things without any rhyme or reason. Of course the biggest issue is can we go this route and have people still play their character’s without suddenly being aware of some of the hiccups or dangers that might present themselves. Ie. if one of the X-Men telepaths wanders down to Cerebro and magically is aware it ‘might’ jack them up… well… bleah.
Just a thought. Obviously a bit of maintenance would be involved but we could strikethrough or remove out dated parts and so forth. And it would provide a safeguard for everyone in terms of knowing who is affecting an entire faction randomly etc. on the off chance it would be important or if a given player is overly abusing creative license.
