The LeaderSterns had seemingly come out of hiding, initiating a plan several months in the making. The issue he currently had however, is the lack of humanoids. This was mainly due to the damages done to the remainder of the cybernetic creations via a battle against a pair of Gamma based humans. Such an issue would generally prove trivial to the Leader, but it seems time was of the essence. A bomb needed to be planted, the site of which would be the Space Needle within the city of Seattle. The men organized the various devices around the base of the tower, killing any and all opposing forces (police, security, etc.) that had gotten in their way when reaching the tower. With these 6 generators placed around the tower, a green-tinted energy shield would surround the iconic building. Standing with the mercenaries at the base of the tower would be the Absorbing Man and Rhino, both hired for their services in this big plan. Of course, both were unaware of what they were exactly hired for. They just knew they were gonna get paid big, given the initial payment for their services here in the first place. Several vehicles would be driving around the base of the tower, while air vehicles soared above the tower. Both were built with equipment that allowed them to pass through the shield if need be. One of the aerial vehicles would deliver a big metal "package" of sorts at the top of the tower. The mercenaries would simply see a big metal box, but inside would contain the infamous "Leader", simply looking through various panels and computer screens being manipulated by his own mind. The last strange sight would be the towering humanoid, one of the only ones Stern seemingly had available. It stood at a height of 40 feet, yet was still dwarfed by the size of the needle behind it. The machine was capable of walking in out of the energy shield whenever it wanted. Though the mercenaries and the other hired super-villains were currently locked behind the shield. Two of the mercenaries would engage in casual conversation. "You know, the boss usually has more of those pink guys around to help out right? How come he only got the giant one walking around?" said the first mercenary. "Come on man, you remember most of them got smashed by that Hulk couple. You know, the green and red one." replied the second mercenary. "There's a red one!?" the first one exclaimed in shock. "Yeah, I heard she's a looker. At least...sometimes. I don't know the full story about her, or where she's at. Same with the classic green guy. They've been MIA. Maybe that's why the boss is setting all this up? To get their attention." Suddenly, the men would have the Leader speaking through their comms. "Gamma Team, relay the message. It's time the world knew of my arrival." The Leader replied. Gamma team would be the one working within a parked ground armored vehicle, stationed outside the shield. With the order given, a video message would start to play across several monitors and television screens across the states. The plan the Leader instituted would know begin to commence. Though a question would start to form in one of the mercenaries minds. "Huh, it's weird. I'm not used to hearing the boss talk over the comms." Another mercenary would reply, "Yeah, it's weird. I'm used to kinda just knowing what he wants us to do." "Well, whatever. Let's just do our job." She-HulkJennifer, still in her plain human form due to her current mental struggles with the transformation, decided to rummage around the fridge in the vain attempt for some ice cream. It seemed she wanted to binge eat some of her worries away. Too bad she couldn't find any. "CLINT!? DID YOU EAT ALL THE ICE CREAM!?" she yelled aloud. Whether he answered or not, she took it as a sign to not binge on unhealthy snacks, and decide to head towards to living room to lounge on the couch. With her hours clocked in at the office, she decided to try and spend some free time at the Mansion. Mainly to try and hang with her old pals, while also waiting for the hope there was another mission in the works that she'd be needed for. While she waited, she turned on the TV, hoping to surf through some channels. "God, it's been forever since I've watched television. Forgot how long the advertisements were."With her watching the screen, bored out of her mind, the screens would start to turn static as the Leader's face was front and center on the screen. Such an image caused Jennifer to tremble, remembering the traumatic even of Bone, Idaho, and how Sterns captured and controlled her to cause such devastating damage to the small turn. "Sterns..."Her arms were starting to shake. She didn't know how to feel about the Leader being on screen. But one thing was for certain. Good things weren't about to happen with him around. The footage would showcase the Space Needle, covered in a green hue that indicated the energy shield surrounding it. The camera would zoom in on a bird flying into the shield, vaporizing into dust once it made contact. The message would end, as the television programs started to play back whatever was meant to be on at the time. But Jennifer, as well as the rest of the Avengers nearby watching, were now hit with quite the ultimatum.

Training as an Avenger was tiring. Between all the self defence and physical conditioning, plus the various new skills she had to learn, Faiza was rapidly re-evaluating her medical training in terms of how demanding it had seemed at the time. But many had endured this before her, and this was just another reason to keep trying. To do any less than her absolute best would be an insult to her instructors, her friends and family, and most of all to herself.
She was coming to the end of a break during a study period about disarming common types of bombs, when the television that She-Hulk (Joan? Jan? Jennifer! That was it!) was interrupted by a broadcast from... some green guy that Faiza didn't recognise. Presumably some villain based on his monologue. That was always the surest sign. Before his little speech ended, Faiza was already on her feet and adjusting her sword belt, checking her armour, and grabbing the bottle of water from the table in front of her. (armour made you sweat a lot until you got used to it.)
Once confident she was ready, she looked to Jennifer, a serious expression as a hand rested on the hilt of her blade. "Avengers Assemble, I take it?"

"The original Wondrous Wasp, at your service."------------------------------------------------------ As for Janet? The Wondrous Wasp was well-aware of the drama. Shortly after the Leader's message finished, Janet would walk into the room, arms folded, and rest her shoulder against the doorway. "Hey, girls," she said to the other heroines. "I'm sure you heard that green goblin's threat?"Janet took a few more steps into the room. She was already clad in her Wasp costume, ready to fly into action. They would need time to plan, of course, but she was ready to go at a moment's notice. In this line of work, you pretty much had to be ready at all times, especially with lives on the line. "Jen, I'm sure you must be heartbroken that we can't just give you over to some creep. How about I call up some other Avengers, and see what we can do about that bomb?"------------------------------------------------------ "I'm just sorry it's not under better circumstances... "

Hawkeye "If I miss, it means I'm just another dude with a bow. It means I've been fooling myself this whole time. And that's why I never miss." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Clint did, in fact, eat all the ice cream. Would he tell Jen that? No. In fact, he'd lie right to her. "NOOOO!!! WHY WOULD I DO THAT?!" He would call from his bed. Of course he was still asleep, why wouldn't he be? It was mid-to-late afternoon! It's practically bedtime at this point! Wait, that logic didn't make sense. He would tromp into the main area where everyone was out and about with a tank top and pajama pants, his hair looking a hot mess and a toothbrush in his mouth. He wouldn't say much, being as he had the toothbrush in his mouth, but he watched the message to the Avengers attentively. "I'll go get my stuff..." He would sigh, "Remember the good ol days when we could just tell Iron Man to bring out the big cannons and good ol Hawkeye just needed to sneak in and disable the shields? Yeah... Me too..." For Patrick, it was his first time back at the mansion since the Academy had been moved to the Avengers Tower. It was strange being back there, but he had to remind himself that it was just a visit since the mansion itself was home for full Avengers. He also didn't want to overstay his welcome at the mansion either, simply out of respect. He knew the Avengers kept a careful eye on him because of the past, but he also didn't want to do anything that might risk his future with being part of the Avengers no matter how many times he felt like he had to prove himself.
He was in the living room on the floor, working on sit ups, performing the move over and over again. No matter how many times he did the sit up, he wasn't showing any signs of tiring or exhaustion.
In between his sit ups, he watched as a woman enter the living room and sat down on the couch before turning on the TV and commenting about how long the ads were. He wasn't sure who she was since there were a lot of Avengers over the course of many, many years and he had only met a very small fraction of them since the relatively short amount of time since he had been brought to New York. Hopefully he'd be able to meet a lot more of them soon.
What caused him to stop and sit up was when a green man appeared on the TV and addressed the Avengers directly, revealing that he had a gamma bomb at the top of the Space Needle with a shield that surrounded it that was very lethal. He was threatening to set it off and expose the citizens to the gamma radiation unless someone named Jennifer Walters offered herself to him and they all surrendered to him.
Two others entered the room, one of whom he recognized as Excalibur, and the other as the Wasp. The Wasp called the one woman that was on the couch 'Jen.' Was she Jennifer Walters, or was it a coincidence when it came to the first name? After all, Jennifer was a common female name. Not only did she call the woman 'Jen,' but the Wasp mentioned that they couldn't give her to some creep . . . which meant it had to be Jennifer Walters that the guy on TV had wanted turned over to him.
Another guy who had entered the living room sighed and stated that he'd go get his stuff. Doing a bit of an acrobatic move, Patrick quickly got to his feet as he indicated, "Count me in."

Steve RogersDown in the training area, Steve would find himself repeatedly striking the hanging punching bags over and over. The television placed on the wall left of the punching bags would be showcasing a game played by the Brooklyn Cyclones. Steve would attempt to try and pay attention to the minor league team, as he continued his basic stamina based training. However, the program would be interrupted by the uninvited face of the "Leader". "Guess it's time to get back to work."Steve would stop his training and head straight towards the changing room. It would be there that he got into his iconic outfit, and page the specialized Avengers ID card to signal the others in the mansion. Jennifer WaltersJennifer would get off the couch, standing right up in preparation for a future fight. She was ready to add another giant noggin into the Leader's already large noggin. She couldn't wait to give the bastard a piece of her mind, as well as a pair of her fists. She couldn't wait to get to the quinjet as soon as she possibly could. Jennifer would reply, "You know how busy everyone is. It's why this mansion is almost always empty nowadays. Besides, we got a few volunteers here already."Jennifer didn't recognize them herself, especially since they were from the Academy. But they looked capable. At the very least, capable enough to help get rid of the small fry while she beats the crap out of Sterns. Both themselves were already volunteering, and with Clint yelling out from another room that he was basically coming along with, they already had a full team. Then a vibration and slight jingle played in her pocket, in which she pulled out the Avengers ID card. As she pulled out the card, Cap's message started to play, indicating that everyone needed to assemble. "Looks like the lady with the sword called it. Let's assemble and kick that big-headed asshole all the way to next week!"Walters began heading towards the elevator to the hangar, expecting her teammates within the mansion to come along with. This was something she had been waiting for, especially after that incident in Idaho. She needed to get justice for those people, and she needed to get justice for herself.

With the Wasp (Jen? Joan? Janet? Ugh. Too many 'J' names) appearing from one of the several doors off the room and asking her question, Faiza was confused for a moment. She was fairly sure she had learned that the Green Goblin was the current President, which she'd work out how that had happened at some point. Last she heard, even Director Wisdom was trying to comprehend that one. But the actual identity of the guy threatening to nuke a city could wait. Even as the others appeared from their various locations, the voice of Captain America came over the intercom and directed them to assemble in the hangar.
Of course, Excalibur had no idea where that was, but it seemed a safe bet that just following the actual Avengers would let her find out, so she fell in behind She-Hulk, not entirely certain if the Captain's call to arms included trainees like herself or not, but worst case scenario, she could just stay on the quin-jet unless anyone needed medical attention. She wasn't really one to hold back unless she absolutely had to, though, and was keen to help protect all the people that were at risk from this madman.

"The original Wondrous Wasp, at your service."------------------------------------------------------ Jen wasn't the only one receiving a message. Janet dig unto her her costume's wrist, pulling out a black rectangle the size of a grape. Surprisingly enough, it started to grow and expand, ultimately taking the look and shape of a rather modern-looking phone. One of the newer models of the iPhone, maybe? "Yep," she agreed with her friend. "Ol' Cap's asking for us to go to the hangar. Looks like we're heading out early."Of course, she naturally followed Jen towards the elevator. No way was she going to miss this fight. But she kept close to her young student, Faiza. She leaned closer to the girl to speak to her somewhat privately. "This could be a really challenging job, kiddo," Janet said in a low voice. "But I know that people out there going to need you, and that you can do it. You'll have to be careful out there, but we've got your back if things go bad."------------------------------------------------------ "I'm just sorry it's not under better circumstances... "

Hawkeye "If I miss, it means I'm just another dude with a bow. It means I've been fooling myself this whole time. And that's why I never miss." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hawkeye would meet the team in stride with his gear prepped and ready. Sure, it wasn't as impressive looking as some of the others, but he could assure anyone that it was as effective as everyone else's stuff. Just in their own, shooty kind of way. He would overhear Wasp and... The new kid... Talking about missions. "Trust me. It can't go bad as MY first mission. I was actually fighting the Avengers for my first mission." He'd grin. "Seriously though, we'll be there. You'll do great."When they would enter the hangar where Cap was, he would push to the front of the group and give a salute. It wasn't meant to be sarcastic, but it probably came across that way. "I was half expecting you to run out and say the line yourself, Cap." Other Information:AppTrackerVoice Example

The message came across from Captain America for all Avengers in the mansion to assemble in the hangar. He followed them, listening as the others talked to Excalibur in order to try and reassure her that she could do this. Was she as nervous about this as he was? He tried hard not to let it show, especially since he had never worked with Jennifer before or the other guy that was going with them. The only ones that he had recalled working with were Captain America and the Wasp.
He followed them onto the elevator, still in his civilian clothes. He didn't want to activate the Iron Spider armor until it was really necessary, especially after a recent situation where he had been told that he relied on the armor too much.
"So who was that person on TV and what can be shared about him?" he wondered. If they could learn more, then maybe those who were newer like himself and Excalibur could go into this better prepared.

As everyone arrived in the hangar, it was time to inform them of the exact details the mission entailed. They of course already knew the gist: the Leader planted a bomb at the top of the Space Needle, guarded by an energy shield and a decently sized army with a few giant robots here and there. As Clint talked about the Captain mentioning his signature catchphrase, Rogers would address the veteran Avengers already in the hangar. "Clint, Janet, Jennifer, and I see some other fresh faces here as well. Speaking of, nice to see you again Patrick. Hope you kept up your training after that last mission."He'd then continue on with the quick briefing of their current situation. "Since we're short-staffed, we'll have to use our new recruits that have decided to join us today." Steve would look towards the two faces whom he recognized as students of the Avengers Academy. "While I imagine you two have had your own share of field experience, I recommend you follow the lead of your veteran Avengers. We'll make sure you two stay safe on the front lines when we get there."Patrick would then ask an honest question, given he has never met or has dealt with the Leader in the past. Jennifer would take the lead on that. "That green-domed headed asshole is the Leader, AKA Samuel Sterns. He's some know-it-all genius with a bunch of brain-dead goons and a bunch of robots doing his bidding. He usually fights my cousin, but I guess he felt like poking at me today of all days."-"Which is why I recommend you don't come with us on this mission. The man seems obsessed with you Jennifer, and I have heard reports that your powers aren't working in they ways they should be. It's unsafe for you to be out on the field."Jennifer would point at the white bracelet on her right wrist. "Doc Samson has me covered. I can transform just be pressing this button." Her finger would be carefully hovering over a green button at the top of the bracelet. "You can ask Clint about it too. He's seen me in action against the Wizard."Whether Clint answers or not, the Captain would continue on. "Alright, but I'll be keeping a close eye on you."Looking back at the other Avengers, he'd further clarify Jennifer's actions on who the Leader actually is. "Like Jennifer said, the Leader is incredibly dangerous. He's a mind-reader with a lot of soldiers and robots fighting right by his side. Given how smart he is, expect some high-powered weaponry and heavily armored vehicles. He is someone who typically clashes with the Hulk after all. Of course, we won't know more until we get to Seattle."He'd then look to Clint and state, "Get the quinjet ready Barton. We need to head-out as soon as possible and survey the situation. Don't know what Sterns has planed."With that, hopefully the Avengers were ready for a dangerous mission against the vile Leader. They needed to perform some quick recon over the surroundings of the tower, before they made their move in the first place. Hopefully, Sterns doesn't start to become impatient and activate the bomb preemptively. Too many lives were on the line for that horrible event.

Faiza was perhaps a little nervous, but she'd already faced some fairly intimidating forces. Indeed, one of them even before she had gained her powers. So at Jan's reassurance, she simply gave a wry smile and replied "Kiddo? I'm twenty eight... Grandma." Hopefully this would come across as a joke, but she already knew about the complicated family tree of the Van Dyne and Pym family, especially its more artificial parts. So the 'grandma' was certainly technically correct.
Hawkeye's comment was perhaps a little easier to take.... well, not seriously, but avoid responding with a joke like with the Wasp's. "If you count when I got my powers, then I was just nearly killed by an alien space ship, and found and got chosen by a sword of legend." She carefully avoided mentioning the first 'official' mission she'd gone on, which was basically just foiling a bank robbery that had been within a few minutes travel of Avengers Mansion.
When they reached the hangar and Captain America started briefing them, she fell silent immediately. She didn't hold him in quite the same reverence as the American heroes seemed to, but he did seem to have a few things in common with Brian Braddock, who was to Excalibur at least, the only 'Cap'.
The information revealed between Captain Rogers and Jennifer was useful indeed. Faiza resolved to focus on any mechanical opponents they faced, though her primary objective would certainly be keeping people alive. But there was one last piece of information she needed before heading into the field. Whilst the Quinjet was being prepped, she approached the Captain, waiting until he was not occupied, before asking her question. "Sir, I am told you have lifted Thor's hammer. I am told that has... similar properties to the blade after which I have been named..." With that, she carefully drew her blade, and plunged it into the floor beneath them. "Knowing if your Irish heritage is enough of a connection to the British Isles for Excalibur to accept you might prove useful to know in advance."
With that, she took a step backwards, waiting to see if he would attempt to pull the sword from the metaphorical stone.

"The original Wondrous Wasp, at your service."------------------------------------------------------ Janet just brushed off the granny comment with an awkward chuckle. She didn't much appreciate the barb, but she could at least respect Faiza's... boldness. Sometimes, you needed that sort of spirit to keep yourself sane out in a fight. Aside from that, Janet mostly kept quiet during the next few little while. Partly so everyone can discuss the mission, partly so she could brainstorm her own ideas to help. Maybe they could borrow the Fantastic Four's Psionic-Refractor? No, not enough time. And neither Nadia, nor her dad had any anti-telepathic devices in their scientific repertoire. Maybe they could use some noise bombs to disrupt his concentration? Ahh, but that would depend on if they had any in their inventory - probably not, considering the damage done to the mansion. While the others were playing around, Janet was absentl-mindedly mumbling out some of her ideas to herself. "Maybe... We could short-circuit some of his machines with my stings... Get some feedback or send it back his way to distract him. Ahh, but we can't rely on... Well, what if...?"------------------------------------------------------ "I'm just sorry it's not under better circumstances... "

Hawkeye "If I miss, it means I'm just another dude with a bow. It means I've been fooling myself this whole time. And that's why I never miss." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Yeah, Cap, I can vouch for her. She's good." He would say with a bit more serious tone. It was game time. While he would still make some jabs in the hangar, the field would be much different. He heard the command from Steve, but he wanted to hear the rest of the team's comments, so he hung around just a little bit longer. "Van Dyne, you're talking to yourself again. Scaring the kids and all." He would say with a wink. As he walked into the Quinjet, he would call out, "Please tell me if Cap pulls the sword out of the ground. I'll have to call Taskmaster up and tell him that he's met his match."Of course that was a joke, he didn't actually have Taskmaster's number. He hated Taskmaster, but he has to respect the shooting. Still wasn't better than good ol' Hawkeye though... He would flip some switches on the interface and get the old bird humming, signifying that the ship was ready to fly. Patrick stood there and heard Captain America's greeting and remark that was addressed to him. He nodded slightly before responding, "Yes, sir. I've been trying." Trying to become less reliant on the suit was a major challenge, and he was really questioning himself if he could continue to be a hero without it. It showed with how uneasy he appeared to be, as he wasn't even sure when he should activate the Iron Spider armor with this situation . . . not that he needed to now, but once they were in the field, when would he be allowed to use it?
He then listened as they were given information about the Leader . . . who he was, how he often fought with a bunch of goons and robots following his orders, often some high powered weapons and heavily armored vehicles too. He apparently fought with the Hulk pretty often, but he also seemed to be obsessed with Jennifer for some reason.
Cap then ordered a guy who was with them to get the quinjet ready and called him Barton. He wasn't familiar with him or what he could do, but from what he could see the guy had a bow and arrows. For now he climbed aboard the vehicle and buckled into a seat in the back, trying to figure out how he might be able to help if he wasn't able to use the Iron Spider armor . . . or if he might be relegated to just staying on the quinjet. He kept those thoughts to himself and remained quiet, as they were a concern and he didn't want to bother anyone with it since they were all focused on the mission.
