    The world had changed, as it surely aways must but it seemed to one Lorina Dodson it had changed not for the good as of late. It was less a world of fun, frivolity and indulgence which was ultimately what led to true, vital existence. Here she sat as she often did flicking through the Apple TV remote (Which sucked, for this money it should be super amazeballs) obligatory huge bowl of Fruity Pebbles at the ready.
She settled finally on an old Cartoon, none of that anime for her thank you- classics never went out of style. Old time violent pixel on pixel mayhem was just what the doctor ordered as she leaned back and took sugary confection in hand to soothe this feeling that the world had lost its smile-taking her with it.
News after news of heroes doing hero things, opiates for the masses really. It was slanted; the news always was to make the sheep people feel like their toil this impoverished existence being content with less was the natural order of things. That being, wanting more was somehow aberrant and that this like her who sought it, sought all life could give them deserved punishment and humiliation.
Todays bread and circuses was the Avengers- the worst of the worst by her opinion. Jerks were white collar social club riches who got off on teeing off against the poor who wanted more than their bowl of gruel. “How the hell can’t anyone see what these clowns are?! How are they any different form the Steve Jobs, the Bill gates schmucks?!” She threw the bowl at the Tv, the mess exploding and seeping down into the carpet doing little to mollify her rage.

The Rapid Rabid Rabbit caper had gotten out of control, it was beautiful in it’s chaos, she barely got away- poor actress she left as the patsy after the proper conditioning truly thought she was Lorina Dodson.
That was a loose end to have fixed sooner or later, but for now- as far as the world was concerned The Infamous White Rabbit was getting much needed psycho therapy.. This all should please her, offer a few laughs but it didn’t. It showed how she could not trust anyone, Alice had Betrayed her- Magic man everyone she looked to, there was no one who truly got it. Got how it was all pointless No one understood that the key to anything in this world is to simply beat, cut squeeze every indulgence out of that could be had- That was it, other than indulgence life ultimately had no meaning.

It was the rationale that got her where she was, rich beyond belief and able to take these so called “smarter people” and make them bend the knee for money, everyone ultimately had a price and would humiliate and debase themselves for it.

    Principles were mercurial when it came to getting yours. Alice, and Magic man had caved at the end of things, they missed the whole point as they turned on her, turned good for the sheeple it seemed. They mussed the damn point it doesn’t matter how good you are a year after you are gone they won’t remember you.

    All these smooth brained idiots could remember was what the TV told them to remember. How good you were, how capable was just as much as the talking heads let it be. Only she was truly free- Only she understood and only she could be Tru- “Wait, that’s it!” She snapped her fingers. “How could I have been so blind!” She declared as she turned, ignoring the milk and cereal that the help would be left to clean up. “If only I get it, then that’s the only person worth working with- ME!”

With that declaration the maiden of mayhem ran form the posh living room, past expensive art (some not stolen) skidding to a halt to open the portal to her lab, the idea was so white hot in her mind she didn’t bother to change out of her vintage “Tom and jerry” long shirt that doubled as a nightie. “It won’t be easy making life, but it’s not to far off the mechabbit I used to ride in battle, how exciting!! I may need to call in some MIT losers for the conceptual- but everyone has a price don’t they?”

    As she descended downward into the clutter tricked out lab she’d hardly scratched the surface of in all her years trying to show the richers and snotty lessers of the world that nothing could stop a truly gifted, creative woman her laughter echoed off the walls as the dim reddish lighting swallowed her whole and the work would begin.

    It had been some time since they last spoke, Alice stood in front of the manse that Lorina had inherited from their old creeper. After that it was to be the two of them versus the world, but that had fallen apart after their encounter with Magic man and those other heroes in the “Rabid Rabbits” caper. It payed out exactly where the two of them diverged.
Where as She was more into the whole “Animal liberation at all costs, Vegan eco-warrior” and she thought that’s where Lorina fell, but after deliberately infecting the rabbits- That was clearly not the case. She banded together with heroes, stopped it and even saved Lorina, but was more or less called out as a traitor. 

It was a mess to be sure, but ultimately she did care for Lorina as you might a sister  who was taking very wrong turns- perhaps after all this time, perhaps now she could help her with a much needed course correction.

    Some people had it, some did not; this was proven amazingly clear this very day to Lorina Dodson. (also known in costume as the amazing White Rabbit to her fans and haters alike) Clearly Alice, sweet  trusting Alice was the latter and not the former--that is why she would never be more than a 2 bit hench and never the star of the show!

    Lorina could barely restrain the  malevolent, if somewhat childishly cruel smile that played out like a Cheshire cats, no, THE Cheshire Cats as she would self correct. Alice had shown her lack of being able to read the situation once more just like their last battle* her denseness cost them so very much time and money as she sided with Magic man against the Master Villainess- how lame was that?!

    Even now, with distance it enraged Lorina so that she knew at once Alice was to have a red queen moment; if not her, someone else would help dear Alice lose her head. After all it could not be very bright to turn up at her abode after such a treachery!

    There wasn't time to get geared up as White Rabbit, that would have made It far cooler but this would have to do! After she had been buzzed in  form the front gate it was simplicity itself to get her to lower her guard, the fool even turned her back on her as she fetched drinks--   

    Sitting, Alice watched her former employer move to the bar to get drinks, exotic sodas confections were her hook not really her thing and certainly not Vegan, but she tried to just let it be, tried to make this right.

    "Lorina, I'm Sorry, we get on well and, I don't mind doing the stuff we do and you pay ok, but... the Animal cruelty was just  too-- "

    The rest, the heartfelt expression- the trying to find a way for the tow of them to stay a team, the amazingly sincere apology that the schemed had ended up with Lorina getting rabies as the scheme played out against Squirrel girl and Gravity Well. All of that would be left unsaid as the thick heavy Crystal decanter form the wetter shattered down over the back of her head!  Words, thoughts everything fled as Alice saw the ground rush up as she fell stunned. 

Crash!

    It was dreadfully cliche but the Decanter filled with soda did suffice to send the taller, stronger woman down. As she hit that big human reset button on the back of her head the sheer joy was invigorating! "Sorry, not yet you aren't you traitor- you clowned me and helped them beat me! ME! The only one who gave you a shot! Sorry, not nearly enough yet...but soon you will be, I promise!"

    She rose, returning to duct tape her wrists and ankles still radiantly smiling. “I have this project I was considering cloning myself for, well my genius brain anyhow. but, you’ll make a nice backup if push comes to shove to see this done. Who knows, programmed correctly maybe you won't be such a humiliating traitor!”

    She could have gone on and on with the gloating; it felt good, proper for a villain at this juncture, but clearly Alice was out like a light and there will still so very much to do to see her master plan of revenge come to fruition. Hiring someone to do it for one, until then she had to keep Alice safe and sedated.

    With a grunt, she started to try and move her to the basement workshop, this however proved difficult since she had miscalculated how heavy she was and how easy it was to move the limp body.

A Firemans carry proved  to yield only comedy gold as she doubled over with the strong woman on her back unable to breath. This, is seems was just the point to illustrate why she wanted henchmen, loyal ones.. This was the very definition of “grunt” work and sadly at the moment she was sans grunts.

She rolled away, panting and wiping the sweat form her brow. in a near tantrum she kicked at her in short angry strikes “^%&%%! Why are you so heavy! What do you even eat  you *(&(^%$%@ treehugger!” 

The final resolution, not her best work  mind you; but involved winching- pulling, and more or less letting her sort of fall down the stairs in the lab proper. Once secured, she needed a super genius nerd.
