SECRET INVASION: Closure (Norman Osborn) (Done)

Here it was. The final battle. 1700 years of human history had led to this moment. And to be honest Gwenpool was expecting more. Maybe she had seen too many marvel movies, maybe she expected things to go down more like a traditional comic book, a big set piece, an epic battle and a finest hour that would be remembered in the history books for generations to come. But there was none of that.

Instead was a New York battlefield that was a chaotic mess. it was a chatoic mess of Humans and Terra-Skrulls vs the invading Ilum'anati skrulls. The sounds of blaster guns and slugthrowers rang across the cityscape. Anything the superheroes were doing was...for ;ack of a better word "off-Screen." No, this didn't feel like a comic book, this felt too much like real life. This was the deserts of Iraq and for a split moment she had flashbacks. As she fragged pyramid Skrulls left and right she found herself accidentalyy bumping shoulders with Norman Osborn. Based on his suit this was durning his iron Patriot run. She hated him. She hated the fact that Osborn was alive. She hated the fact that he was president. Darn it who was she kidding she hated this whole situation. At this point she just wanted the whole invasion to be done as quickly as possible. honestly at this point she'd find a way to reverser it if she could.

"Where is Maphisto when you need him?" she thought to herself. sudeenly she heard a scream the source was a family. Ironically a skrull husband, a human wife and a Hybrid daughter, they were cornered by a pyramid skrull soldier with a heavy lazer rail gun. The gun began to whirl and whine but before he could release a shot. She sniped him. his body collapsed to the floor as green blood and skrull brains oozed out of his head. Gwen looked over at the family and gritted her teeth.

"Run as fast as you can and try to find some shelter. it's not safe out here."

The family nodded and ran off into one of the safe houses. Yeah this felt all too familar, the screams the choas. This was no comic book battlefield it was a warzone.

She took a deep breath. If this was how things were going to go down then it was time to go into solider mode.

"Sir you are coming in on a conflict zone most of the heroes are scattered through New York"

      Two missiles and a barrage of gun fire hit a ship as it moves into attack. Iron Patriot had just attacked the ship. It was another scorching hot day the sun was setting over New York City. A loud crashing sound as a small ship crashes nearby the city. Iron Patriot, also known as Norman Osborn, dropped in from the sky. "We’ve got trouble. Skrulls have infiltrated the city. I have readings of life over here." Norman looks back to a crazy looking scene. He can hear blasters going off all over. A loud boom then he sees green blood all over the place and a woman who he had just bumped into."Lady, I would get to cover if I was you." she went off to the side helping a family out.

 “ Send in the men and women to the northeast quadrant it is clear help as many as you can I'll take care of this area. I might need some back up. We need to identify and neutralize any of the Skrulls that are a threat before they can cause chaos. They’re shapeshifters trust no one.”  Just as Norman was going to move a large rocket hit him from behind and sent him flying into a large apartment building across the street. A stray rocket hits by the subway entrance.

"Systems rebooting online in 10,9,8...Sir, you are under attack it is the Skrulls Firepower Armor again. We've confirmed multiple people still alive inside the subway," the voice of his A.I. assistant, Echelon was heard through his helmet. "Sir, at the moment we have a survivor up here to the right side alleyway." In the nearby subway station. Commuters began to panic as Skrulls started causing chaos. They began to attack the people even throwing one of the bystanders into the oncoming train.

Gwen was in a mad scramble to get people out using her portal gun she even used her shapeshifting powers to the point she almost looked like an androgynous blob. But whatever she needed to do to get people out that was what she was going to do it. She watched as Osborn did his thing. She did not the like the man and if she had her way, he would still be six feet under. She saw the rocket hit the subway and immediately ran into action. she faught her way through the smoke and saw people in the subway, most wer hurt but still alive.


"Just stay calm you're going to be ok."

Just then more Ilum'anti soldiers filled the station and began to attack. Thinking fast, Gwen grabbed a can of hairspray and a lighter from a fallen purse. Activating the lighter and pressing the can of hairspray she made an impromptu flamethrower. The skrulls screamed as they were ingulfed by the flame. Gwen then through the can of hairspray towards the burning skrull soldiers and shot it with an issue. The can exploded like a bomb, creating a squad of dead mangled ilum'anti soldiers. the surviving civs cheered and Gwen could not help but give a small bow. now she needed to get these people to safety.

Times Square-42nd Street station is the busy station most people are trying to get out of the city. A subway train on a one-way trip to the station has hostages on it and could detonate with at least two on it holding the trigger. Iron Patriot flies straight at Firepower dodging left to right and hits him out into central park trying to lower the collateral damage and save lives."Ahh...Get me a status update Echelon, is the Rambo lady taking care of business at the subway also?

The battle began as Firepower unleashed a barrage of high-energy plasma blasts from his gauntlets. The beams cut through the air, catching the grass and some trees on fire creating explosions that rocked the park. Osborn dodged with his Iron Patriot suit, then deflecting the attacks with his repulsors and firing back with precision guided missiles. One blast struck his left shoulder, sending a jolt of pain through his arm and causing sparks to fly from the damaged armor. He winced, his HUD flashing warnings about critical system malfunctions.

“ Taking some serious damage. My other suit isn't even fully repaired yet. Dammit, I can’t afford to lose focus.” He activated his suit’s emergency repairs, trying to prevent any more of the damage. Firepower, let loose with some powerful missiles just missing Iron patriot.

Some fountains were destroyed and part of an overpass. Norman’s suit was about to give out from all the strain on his suit. His movements were becoming slower as he is hit with blast bouncing off the ground and into the air as Firepower slams him to the ground and begins punching at Iron Patriots suit. In a desperate move, Osborn fired a concentrated energy beam at Firepower, messing with his optics temporarily blinding him and causing a momentary stop in his assault. taking the opportunity, Norman tried to regroup. His suit’s systems were running on emergency power, and he was barely managing to keep it together. Crimson Blood dripped from his face into the mask. Firepower, recovering quickly shooting a devastating energy wave that struck Osborn head on. The force of the blast threw him across the park, sending him crashing into a nearby rock formation. The impact left him unconscious and battered, his suit showing visible signs of severe damage.

Norman struggled to rise, his vision blurred and his suit’s systems HUDs flickering. Firepower came at him full speed preparing for the final blow. But just as victory seemed likely for the villain, a glimmer of hope Osborn’s eyes. he activated a hidden protocol that was added after his last fight to both suits within his suit a last-ditch offensive that he had hoped never to use. His repulsors flared with a extreme blinding light as he launched himself at Firepower. The attack caught the villain off-guard, and a powerful explosion erupted, filling the area in a cloud of smoke and debris.

As the dust settled, Norman Osborn lay on the ground, his suit severely damaged and his body bruised and bleeding. Firepower, battered but still standing, falling back a little bit, disoriented but alive. Norman reached into his side holster underneath what was left of the armor and  after trying to aim took and shot the Skrull through a hole in his helmet in the head. Firepower skrull then fell to the ground dead. The distant sound of sirens grew louder, hearing the arrival of emergency services. Norman Osborn, barely conscious and with his suit 80% gone, was rescued by a team of paramedics. Despite his bad wounds, an evil smile of satisfaction. He had faced one of his greatest challenges and survived. As he was carried away, the Iron Patriot’s armor flickered one last time before powering down completely." Mr. President you can't go back in stop struggling you might have a concussion." Norman grabbed the emts hand. "Well, the battle is not over yet someone has to save..." He passes out. Two minutes later he comes to reaches up touches some stiches on a wound that was now healed and fell out and then puts his helmet on in the ambulance. He turns it on with the helmets back up power supply.

"Sir, we are not getting any readings on your suit, but we are picking up you are still alive through the helmet sensors. We have another problem. With the other heroes out battling the Skrulls there is no one else left to stop the current situation," the voice of his A.I. assistant, Echelon was heard through his helmet. "Sir, in ten minutes time a highly explosive device is on its way to Times Square-42nd Street station. There are rumors of some kind of Skrull Alligator or giant lizard attacking people in the area also it took out about 10 troops so far. No exact location of the lady. We our blinded by the fire and smoke mixed readings say she is alive."

Gwen felt it, The shift in continuity. It wasn't like some kind of infinite crisis wave or anything like that. It was just sort of this…feeling. Like a tingle. Reality had altered itself. Not big enough in a way to be an event in an of itself and impossible to be percived by people not aware of the 4th wall, but it was there.

She then saw it in the distance. A shuttle blasting off into space. Deep in her gut she knew it was Tek’ton. The alien reptilian slime ball escaped the chaos. No doubt to live and fight another day.

*There must have been a change of plans.* she thought to herself. The battle was won for Earth, but it was only a matter of time. if she knew her angel like she thought she did, this wasn't over. Vernake was still a poece on the board and Tek'ton...Her angel had plans for the warskull down the road. But, for now that was not hers to worry about.

As she turned to walk away she saw a Skrull resembling a giiant lizard charge and attack troopers. And something told her this was the main bad guy of the invasion now. With a smirk she pulled out a sniper rifle and shot it twice in the chest and once in the neck. She didn't kill it but she weakened him enough to allow the president to finish him off and give Osborne his big moment. Satisfied with her work she turned around, activated her portal gun and disappeared without a trace. It was long past time to bring this whole event to rest.

The Skrull Lizard growled as it was hit multiple times. It staggered backwards two to the chest and one time to neck. He leapt at her and missed as she walked through a portal sliding into a couple pallets. Skrull Lizard moved away looking for the woman who just shot him. The Skrull Lizard hissed with its tongue flicking in and out. Norman Osborn, once the Green Goblin showed up in the Goblin suit wearing the Iron patriot helmet. Norman’s glider hovered above the Lizard, its pumpkin bombs ready. The Skrull Lizard's tail lashed out sending debris and sparks flying as it crashed into the side of an information booth. The station’s overhead lights flickered. “ Time for round two you scaly creep, I'm prepared this time. You're not getting away with this, monster!”

The Lizard growled then jumped in one direction then leapt toward Norman. The Goblin’s glider slid to the side. Norman hurled a pumpkin bomb hit the ground erupting in a burst of green flames. Skrull Lizard dodged out of the way. A runaway subway train with explosives coming down the tunnel, its screeching brakes could be heard off into the distance. The train was on a collision course.

"Sir, we have another problem the brakes are not working on the train." the voice of Echelon. "Sir, you need to do something quick only about minute before it crashes with a highly explosive device on board."

Norman knew he had to end this fight quickly or add even more destruction to the already bad situation. The Lizard charged with its claws out, Norman was ready. He launched a group of electric stars from his glider, each one lit up with energy as they struck the Lizard. The Skrull Lizard growled in pain. It lunged once more its claws slashing through the air at the glider. Norman leapt off the glider he only had one chance. He threw one final pumpkin bomb, this one modified with a freezing agent. It detonated in a frosty explosion, encasing the Skrull-Lizard in a block of ice. Norman took a tail hit into the wall knocking the air out of him. Gaspin for air he jumped up and onto his glider. Norman activated his glider’s to go full speed to the edge of the platform. With a powerful thrust, he aimed for the emergency brakes located at the end of the track. The glider's grappling hook launched out latching onto the brake handle. The glider was having a hard time as it engaged the brakes. The runaway train slowed finally coming to a scary stop just inches from the end of the platform. Norman dove into the train taking out a few Skrulls with a couple knock out punches as he ran though the train shooting Skrulls until he came to the last one with a hostage. It was a cop he didn't like from when he was in Prison. "I'm going to kill this man and blow up this train nothing you can do about it." He had two bullets left so he shot the cop in the leg as the skrull went forward Norman shot the Skrull through the top of his head sending light green blood and pink matter ever ware. Norman fell back into the seat as the hostages cheered. One soldier runs up. "We did it the Skrulls are retreating, we won." With that the Skrull invasion was over the Lizard Skrull was taken into custody before he could break out.
