A/N: Hey guys! ^.^ I know I usually stick to het pairings, but I found an old news report about a mission they had together. And I instantly thought about how they would make a good ship. I love clashing personalities XD So without further ado, please enjoy the first installment of TCatP.
He was just twenty years old, as of last week. The rough, wild Logan was no stranger to working the ploughs and feeding the animals of the old Richards farm. Years of getting his hands dirty have made him a tall, barrel-chested, hairy bear of a man.
And he was eighteen years old. The quiet, bookish Reed Richards had spent much of his sheltered life burying his nose in a book. A cute young man on the cusp of manhood, his clean-shaven face was hidden behind a pair of glasses. His boyish looks made him very popular with the ladies of New Minister High - particularly with a lovely girl by the name of Susan Storm.
But as he looked down from his bedroom window, out onto the wheat fields of his father's farm, he wondered if the man below him liked him. If he was as interesting to James as he was to the other kids of the school. It was a thought he couldn't shake.
James wasn't like them. He was boorish, and gruff, uneducated, quiet because he wanted to be. He worked the farm an had rough, calloused hands. His skin was sun-kissed, and he was always glistening with a hard days worth of sweat. His chest hair would peek from his old, weathered plaid shirt, which was a little too small and a little too snug on his muscular form.
Reed shook his head. James was the kind of person whose opinion shouldn't have mattered to him.
Yet... why would he look out the window every day, just to watch him work the fields?
A/N: Tell me what you think! I hope you guys like it. ^.^ Remember, each comment is more incentive for an author to continue. It really means a lot to me when I get to see all your wonderful comments, critiques and criticisms.
