It was Christmas time and the only thing to do was to sit back, put your feet up and turn on the TV before realising that you had forgotten to put the turkey in the oven.... or was it goose .... or pork... anyway, you rush up and make sure it is all cooking when you hear what is on the TV. A knocking on glass! But how was that possible? TV's were no longer made of glass but really thin plastic with lights. You look through the hatch and what do you see but Officer Grey glaring at you! She indicates frantically trying to get your attention, beckons you over with a look that you can't refuse.
Oh dear reader! You in for a fright with maybe, just maybe a bit of delight.
You approch the screen but not to near when she yells at you quite clear.
"The time has come once again for you to see what has been done. A time of year which is both old and new for before this night is over you will see it's true. The visits won't be numbered three but far to many who may fear, love or adore. You have been told and I must leave for my part in this story has been done."
With that you watch with open jaw as Officer Grey retreats to a dot in the darkness before with a click a movies starts playing "Avengers Assembled" Or something like that, you not quite sure and neither is your cat. Who approaches with a Mow! and a Purr to demand its own dinner. Shaking your head, you think your in a daze but wait until after the turkey's been glaze!

As you sat watching the TV, drinking your wine/beer/soda the Avengers Assembled had a commercial break and an advert came on which looked most odd! A girl no older than 12 stood there with black eyes and slightly hunched body. The commentator spoke clearly. "Please Mrs Prast... tell us... how did this happen." The girl began fidgeting as the microphone was held to her mouth and she spoke timidly into it, unsure what it was. "I... I walked into an open cupboard!"
The commentators voice changed to a little softer. "Now, Mrs Prast... we know that is not true. This girl was seen being beaten by her husband because she was late home from work after going to busy a few items. Plus she hadn't got any alcohol for him to drink. Is this true?" Klara was fidgeting in front of the camera, not sure what to say. In the background was a screen from 1907 market. People were moving goods on shoulders, heads and wheelbarrows. There was a lot of hustle and busel going on but everyone seemed to be overlooking what was going on. Klara spoke quietly. "Please... he is my husband. He didn't do it!"
The commentator spoke out of view again. She spoke over Klara. "For just $2 a day you could help get this poor child away from her abuser. She needs your help NOW... Not in the past! Just call the number printed on the bottom of the screen and you can be saving a poor girl like Klara." "It was my fault, I should have remembered. It's my duty to be beaten. I'm his wife. He beats me to make me better. I don't need charaty. Who are you speaking to?"
By the end Klara was frowning into the camera. It made her look more in need of help. As your heart melts so the advert ends and other adverts appear.

The next advert which came onto the TV was a fantastic new invention which would prepare a meal from scratch and put it on the stove ready to eat. Ziggy stood there grinning from ear to ear.
"This is the brand new Meal Prep 2019 ready to help you cook soups, stews and roasts. The only thing you need to do is turn the cooking appliance on and wash the vegetables.
"Just look at how the toughened conveyerbelt moves smoothly along taking the produce from one end to the other and into the pan. It doesn't matter what it is it will adjust the thickness automatically so that everything will cook at the same time.
"For the Christmas season we are including a spare set of knives and the new sharpening stone in order to keep it fully functioning.
"Worried about cross contamination. No fear, there is a special section underneath which helps keep the belt clean and destroys all germs. It comes with a seven year guarantee. Which is two more than normal just in time for Christmas. Just think... fill it up turn it on and when the timer goes off your meal is ready!"
The young Ziggy stood there grinning while a male voice said a spell about terms and conditions and the price flashed up on screen.
$199+p&p+VAT
The image moved in closer to Ziggy as she seemed to look straight at you.
"You had better buy it or I will be stuck here!.... Yes I mean you! The one drinking the coffee!..... Look just go online and order and I can go or I am stuck here grinning!"

(Hey hey, figured I may as well join this as my first thread for Apoc-Fox. Hope it's fine, Gummy!)As yet another advert popped up on your classic TV (of which you're unsure how you've got it set there in the first place), your ears are treated to a pleasantly energetic beat. The yellows and reds of the interior decor catch your eyes, and in a mere moment you can tell it's depicting the interior of a Kwikkee Burger. The alleged one-hundred-percent real beef's flavor from your last trip to the burger joint flows in phantom fashion over your tongue... though you're sure the last Kwikkee you've been at wasn't kept nearly as clean as the set used for this ad! But sneaking beneath the counter onto the set is a rather peculiar sight, and an interesting choice of either CGI or practical effects; a fox-woman is creeping out of sight, licking her lips in animal fashion as her pine-green eyes set upon a rather well-assembled burger, fries and soft drink. As her fingers cautiously slide up the sides of the table, a fry cook with hair as greasy as the food she's trying to swipe pats the now-surprised vixen on the hand. "Apocalypse Fox", he chuckles, "You've gotta pay for a Kwikkee Meal like everyone else". As the mutant being stands up, grinning bashfully with pearly fangs, she glances toward the camera before speaking, "Yeah, yeah. With a bite like this for just $3.99, I can dig it".The next shot shows depicts the... rather oddly-named fox nibbling on the burger, secret sauce dribbling from the edges. Chiming in with a thumbs-up, the so-called 'Apoc-Fox' smiles and quips, "Kwikkee Burger! Hot burgers served up quick!"...the thumbs-up and goofy smirk carries on for just a tad longer than you feel necessary. To little surprise, the advert drags out longer on the weird broadcasting tonight, as the fox-human hybrid looks left and right before commenting to herself, "...I still wish this was an ad for their spicy chicken sandwich. That stuff's good".
