Juli closed and locked the door of her shop, emitting a soft sigh as she turned to clean up. She'd had a big sale on buy one get one sets of makeup and so many people had come in, she thought she was going to run out of products for a bit. But everything had gone well, so why was she still feeling sad? She had pretty much everything she wanted, minus dating someone seriously, but that was more her choice. She'd said that she wanted to work on her career but she still went on dates sometimes, so why wasn't she satisfied?
She thought to herself as she cleaned, eventually coming to the idea that she wasn't using her powers. Yeah, her father had "given" these powers to her but she didn't want to use them for his purposes, as a spy for him and the company he worked for. Still, she hadn't really used her powers in public since she'd met with that little alien prince who'd been so rude to her, and she hadn't gone to the school he went to in order to complain about him either. But what could she do? She was really too old at this point to go back to school and she doubted they would just let her teach some kids, not that she really wanted to do that either. She just wanted to either join a group on the side or maybe become like a vigilante, though according to the news, they were pretty much outlawed unless you had the government's approval.
She still had Mockingbird's card but she didn't want to fight for SHIELD either, she had enough of being under someone else's control, but what else was there? She finished cleaning and headed out the back door, locking that securely behind her before conjuring a big burly guy to walk with her out into the main part of the street. Once she had called for a taxi and it had arrived, she snapped her fingers and caused her work to evaporate, proud of the control she'd gained. I mean, she still visited others' dreams and practiced conjuring different things, just in the privacy of her own home. She slid into the cab and gave directions to her apartment, wishing that Dracula would come visit her again, though she still didn't want to be turned.
Within a few minutes, she was home with a frozen pizza in the oven and she slipped into her comfortable sweats. She turned on the news as she got her food ready and found herself drawn to a story about some powered villains that had decided to cause some chaos. She couldn't help but wonder what their lives were like, did they ever get bored with what they'd decided to do? Honestly, it looked like they had fun and they certainly didn't have to follow any rules! Juli laughed a little, wondering just how one would sign up for some sort of villain group, and ate her pizza while she scrolled through Twitter. She typed out a quick tweet about how villains seemed to have so much fun, then quickly forgot about it as her favorite show came on, simply relaxing and forgetting about her problems for the day.
