Kevin was officially only meant to teach American History, but he'd more than once filled in for another teacher, often without any of the students ever realising their normal teacher had been absent. Today was one such occasion, as it was quite a sunny day, and Jubilee was therefore understandably reluctant to teach her scheduled cooking class in the kitchen with rather large windows. And so he had gone over her lesson plan for the day, discussed a few of the students in particular, and taken a few minutes to 'get into character'. By the time any of the students arrived, Morph was indistinguishable from Jubilation Lee.
The first few filed in, and it was clear right away they'd heard all the rumours about Jubilee's recently becoming a vampire - something which she wasn't outright hiding from anyone, but was doing her best to avoid becoming too widely known. As long as it was only rumour, open confrontation on the matter would be easier to deflect or avoid entirely. Regardless, between the aborted whispers and the glances between 'her' and the windows, it didn't take a mind reader to know what they were thinking, not that that would have been a problem for him.
Each time a few students entered the pattern repeated. One of the students with minor telepathic gifts tried to read 'her' mind (detention, he made a mental note) which was easy enough to subtly block. As the class formally began, Morph launched into the opening little speech that Jubilee had planned, deliberately walking back and forth in front of the windows, sharing a silent laugh with Jubilee via the psychic link he was maintaining with her.
It was only right at the end of the lesson when he went wildly off the regular lesson plan. 'Accidentally' slipping with a sharp knife, he nicked his own finger. Gasping and holding it up in front of himself just dramatically enough to make sure everyone was aware without suspecting, he went pale and took a few steps backwards towards the windows again. His form became slightly indistinct briefly, settling back into a slightly more classically vampiric impression of Jubilee, eliciting a scream from a few of the class, before he began laughing hysterically, and resumed his own appearance. The students all calmed down immediately, though a few quickly became visibly frustrated at having been caught out in this manner. They'd all have a laugh about it later though, he knew. That was the advantage about having a reputation as a harmless jester - you could get away with harmless jests.
"Sorry, Ms Lee couldn't make the class today. I couldn't help but have a little fun in her place. I hope everyone has learned not to listen too much to rumours? Class dismissed. Except for you, Gary. You've got detention for trying to read my mind earlier."
With the class over, Kevin stayed looking like himself, having nothing important to do for the next hour. As such, he did something spontaneous, and maintained his link to Jubilee, letting her see through his eyes as he went to take a walk outside in the glorious sunshine. He knew how much she missed sunny days, and as always spending time in someone's form had given him an elevated empathy for them. How could he not take just a few minutes to let her enjoy something so pleasant, something that she'd possibly never experience again otherwise?
