Return of the Comic Con


Welcome to Comic-Con. Comic-Con is a multi-aspect grouping of multiple fandoms including comics. A Two-day event that will entertain and shock you, 1.8 million square feet of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. On the front display is a heavily guarded comic Shadow hawk #1, still our top comic this year. And other famous Comics throughout the years. This year we increased security and armed guards so everyone is safe. This year even more special guests are signing autographs. On the first floor Level 1, there is a large food court, press office, two smaller stages, four halls so people can get the autographs of our special guest. Also, a large theater for sneak peeks.

A large Virtual room called the Marvel Vision V2 lets the fan become a hero saving a city this located on second-floor level 2 also a large showroom floor, exhibits, and a security room. Day 2 our largest charity event ever Give to the children, it helps children with Cancer and other potential terminal illness, along with those in need of any kind of help sponsored by F.E.A.S.T.

Day one:

9:00 am The opening sneak peek. Early access to press and other VIPs.
10am Grand opening.
11:30 am Autographs from some of the Avengers/ X-men (Card subject to change) and a few special guest artists.
12:00 pm Special guest speaker.
3:00 pm First-day costume contest. The small reveal of vintage comics exhibits for a select few.

5:00 pm Large show on the second-floor advanced technology and how it will improve your world.
7:00 pm Large show on the second floor the future of virtual Reality
9:00 pm 1st day After party Celebration (Costume ball) of Freedom show.

Day two:

(All on first floor till 5:00pm)
10:30 am Autographs from the cast of Mandalorian and a host of horror movie actors, also a few special guest artists.
12:30 pm More autographs actors for a variety of shows
2:00 pm Special Presentation
3:00 pm Second-day costume contest.

5:00 pm Special guest speaker on the second floor and presentation of the lifetime achievement award in Comics.
6:00 pm Art show new and old.
8:00 pm 2nd day After party Celebration (Black tie Galla sponsored by F.E.A.S.T.)


(Rules for posting no double posting, after another post from another character you are free to post this is so we can have a smooth transition. If in a conflict of any kind, please give the other character a chance to respond before your next response. If the thread gets crazy will edit to keep things organized. Alison Blaire walked through the doors and looked around, smiling happily. Comic-Con looked so nice this year! She was here on her own, though she was kind of slated as back up in case any of her fellow X-Men couldn't make it to their special events, and she was dressed in casual clothes, at least for her. A nice pair of soft pink slacks and a cozy , warm pink sweater with a smattering of rhinestones across it, plus new white sneakers and pink ankle length socks.

As she looked around for people she knew, she was stopped here and there to talk to fans, but she encouraged them to go to the events coming up, even mentioning that she was planning on going to the costume contest. In fact, backstage in one of the green rooms, there was a bag with her costume that she thought people would not expect. In the meantime, she wandered and greeted people, waiting for the "hey we need you" text but quite enjoying herself in the meantime.

Marie had heard about conventions in general, and Comic Con in particular had been held up as an example of these at their best. Being her first chance to attend one she was naturally nervous, but had put a lot of effort into multiple costumes, having found herself unable to choose between them. Currently she was in a self made Princess Peach outfit that was surprisingly decent quality compared to most of the other cosplayers she'd seen so far, though a few were absolutely breathtaking.

Somewhere around she knew a few of the X-men were signing autographs, and whilst there were a few Avengers doing so as well she wasn't much of an autograph hunter and was therefore using the time to instead simply wander the convention and drink in the atmosphere for herself. This convention was her first real chance at pursuing a hobby in person and she wasn't going to miss one second of it!

Meanwhile across the hall, Squirrel Girl was already 'on duty', signing autographs and chatting with fans of both herself and the Avengers in general. This kind of work was absolutely her favourite, since it involved no senseless violence but instead socialising - her real superpower. The past record of these events was known to her of course, and there were a fair few of her squirrel scouts around the place, keeping an eye out for trouble and ready to alert her when if anything super-villainous did occur.

Patrick made his way around Comic Con . . . the place where he had met Gabby right after he had come to New York City. It had been a while since he had visited this event, just as it had been a while since he had last seen Gabby. He hoped he'd run into her, but it might all depend on the guests. The last time she was here, it was for the HAMMER presentation so if there was technology involved he was certain that it would pique her interest.

He wasn't in costume, but he also wasn't at the Avengers table. Sure, he was still somehow with the Avengers Academy, but he wasn't a full Avenger. Apparently only those that were full Avengers were required to do the signing.

Honestly, he didn't know who he made his way through the convention hall. Hopefully he'd find someone he knew, but if not he hoped that he could at least make a new friend from everyone that was gathered for this huge event . . .

As Alison walked along, she smiled at all the people bustling back and forth, especially at Squirrel Girl, who was signing autographs and socializing. She wouldn't bother her, though she might talk with her later. Instead, she stopped to admire some cosplayers who had very nice costumes, including one person who was dressed as her. "That is amazing!" she said, posing for photos once being asked.

She moved on, meeting with fans and even stopping to chat with a couple of the vendors selling products, even buying a T-shirt with the Avengers on it. Thinking she'd maybe wear it the next day, or even later on, she was distracted and only caught a glimpse of someone in a pink dress, but then she registered that it was a Princess Peach dress and she looked closer, even moving closer so she could compliment the person wearing it, and that's when she recognized her. Grinning, she moved forward and said "Hey Marie! Your costume looks awesome!" Pausing a moment, she then asked "What have you been up to so far today?", shifting on her feet as she waited to hear what her friend would say.

Marie had been having a lot of fun just talking with people - still a little bit of a novelty for her to do so on such a large scale - chatting about various characters, costumes, posing for a few pictures and so on. Another voice from the crowd spoke a compliment over her dress and she turned with a cheerful expression, ready to acknowledge it as her brain began to register that she'd been called by name, just in time to recognise the voice - and indeed face.

"Ms Blaire! Thanks! I spent a lot of time on this one, possibly as long as all the others combined. Easy, just time consuming. I brought my other ones with me too, I might change into some of them later of course. So far I've been just having a look around at all the stalls, enjoying the crowd, costumes... everything. Probably I'll slow down in a bit and find somewhere to sit down and have a rest or something. Could have sworn I saw a friend earlier, too. But they were gone in the crowd before I could get close enough to tell."

She'd only met Patrick once, during the X-men / Avengers trainees cross dimensional scavenger hunt. But she'd quite liked him, and he was far better mannered than just about any of the guys (or indeed girls) at the X-mansion.

"What about you, miss? Are you here for fun, or are you performing or something? I bet the tickets are all sold out if you are..."

Given that Dazzler was her music teacher back at the Institute, Marie was not worried about getting to see any performance that might be taking place. She was muddling through teaching herself the guitar, but when you had a glam rock superstar like Dazzler coaching you on singing, you got way better than a middle of a crowd seat at a concert. Some of those music lessons had been as good as any other time she'd spent at the mansion so far.

Warpath


Jimmy arrived ready to sign autographs some people thought he was a wrestler.Jimmy was dressed in dark blue dress slacks and a dress shirt. He smiled and kept signing autographs. His main problem is he was still unregistered. He doubted any of the government jerks would be looking, just way too many people. He smiled and waved to squirrel girl and Dazzler he hasn't seen either in a long time. He figured he could get in free if he did autographs and he was right. But because of the atmosphere here, he did not even stand out which was refreshing for a change. He smiled over at the ladies. "Hi Ladies, did not know who was going to be here."

Mr. Li

Mr. Li arrives outside the Comic con convention center in a white limo. He was happy that heroes of the city were there, all this publicity was great for his new project Feed the need sponsored by F.E.A.S.T. and a few other companies.He makes his way inside.

"Please step up the security, We have so many people here, Alert me when the Heart of New York arrives."

Soon after Mr. Li heads towards the autograph tables. He makes his way in closer to guests of honor. Now with a big smile and a friendly gesture about him. A bit upset they had nothing to drink or eat.

"Oh, would someone please get our distinguish guests some refreshments. Hello, I'm Mr. Li head of F.E.A.S.T. I'm glad you all came today. Ever since I helped out some of the mutants in mutant town, we decided to start out our new project feed the need, we don't want anyone excluded we love everyone." .

Jacob didn't usually go to Comic Con as he didn't have the money at the time to go, but recently he and his family were able to get enough money to go; he wondered if any Super-Villains would show up and ruin the festivities; he was wearing a Spider-Man outfit so convincing that not even Super-Villains could know the difference until he took the costume off, he had his Superhero outfit in his backpack which also completed the outfit, he thought that was convenient. He then saw Martain Li, Squirrel Girl and, which he guessed was Dazzler in a Princess Peach outfit, he walked forward and decided to introduced himself "Hello, Mister Li, love your work. Oh, This is just cosplay outfit." He took off the mask "My name's Jacob. It's really nice meeting you." He never met Martain Li before but he had heard of his work over at F.E.A.S.T. So had been following his work ever since.

Alison smiled as Marie talked, nodding her head while observing her surroundings. "That's great, Marie! I'm glad you're having fun" she said, shaking her head a bit as Marie asked if she was performing. "No, not today. I'm on standby in case one of the X-Men can't make it, but I've been having fun meeting people" she included, looking off to the side as Warpath entered and another guy who seemed vaguely familiar but she couldn't place.
As Warpath greeted them, she smiled and said "Hey James, how are you?" before the other dude, who was dressed a little oddly for Comic Con, asked to bring people refreshments and introduced himself. She knew what F.E.A.S.T. was, but she hadn't been there herself, so she simply nodded and said "Hi, I'm Alison Blaire", turning to meet the other young man who joined them.

"I really like your Spider-Man costume!" she exclaimed, falling quiet as he seemed to be wanting to talk to Mr. Li, which was fine. She wouldn't mind learning more about his project, especially if it was helping other people.

(On Earth CF-K132 AKA Gwen Poole's Earth)

(3rd Person)

When Gwen found out that This universe had comic cons and that this one, in particular, had ACTUALLY superheroes coming to be a part of the panels, she just about fainted. You bet your butt she was going to go. using her portal gun she quickly hopped over to her own universe and grabbed her stuff. The first question she had was what Costume/Cosplay she was going to wear. She sure as heck wasn't going to wear her Gwenpool outfit. Her 616 prime counterpart did admit that she liked Deadpool the least because it was too "LOL meme" for her taste. For Gwen Poole herself, however. the hate was much deeper. Gwenpool as far as Gwen was concerned was a knockoff of Deadpool (who was a knockoff of both DCs Deathstroke and the Beta version of the Creeper was already which would become Steven Spielberg's Freakazoid) based on an attempt to cash in on the popularity and hype of Spider-Gwen, who herself was a knock-off of two other characters with those being Spider-man and Gwen Stacy. (She was still sour over the fact that the OG Gwen Stacy was not resurrected with Spider totem powers and not given the name of Ghost-Spider proper as opposed to the title and powers being given to some knockoff varient.)

Heck the only reason why she got stuck with the mantel IN-UNIVERSE was because the guy that made her costume misunderstood what she meant when she said her name was "Gwen Poole" (Because get it They sound the same. GET THE JOKE YET?!?!?)

As you can see Hate does not remotely describe the amount of contempt for she has for her gimmick.

(First Person)

I go through my closet and decide who I'm going to Cosplay as. I'm down between Ms. Marvel and Spider...you know what? No. Poor Peter already has to deal with enough Spider-Man knockoffs and as much as I like both Julia Carpenter and Jessica Drew Ms. Marvel will always be my #1 seriosuly if I had to be a knockoff of a marvel character why not her?

I take a shower to wash the highlights out of my hair I put on the costume, I set my phone up to take a picture and I strike a poise.

"Heh not bad."

I can't help but sigh. I know that the Captain Marvel Costume is more practical and it's more accurate to the image that she likely wants to portray, but darn it, it feels like a downgrade to me. Both the Ms. Marvel mantel and the Classic Black and gold will always be representative of the best of her, from her lowest lows and her greatest triumphs and I will die on that hill Blast it!

This costume in particular holds a special place in my heart. My dad Ted Poole Senior was a huge fan of Ms. Marvel member of the Air Force before becoming a police Captain (Yeah you probably know where this is going. Let's just say in spite of my last name I AM a variant of Gwen Stacy and SOME but not all of the baggage that goes along with that) Ms. Marvel was basically his friend's Mascot and they created a comic book accurate costume using actual military grade material (Yes he had permission to do that) my dad ended up with the costume and it's been a bit of a momento since his passing. A reminder of simpler times.

It's scary how well this thing fits to be honest and I like the way it feels alot.

"I know this thing was primarily made for sex appeal but darn it I feel both Sexy AND powerful in this thing."

I get some of my collectibles. I'm hoping beyond hope that some of my favorite heroes will be willing to sign them. Imagine how cool it would be if the X-Men signed my complete DVD box set of X-Men the Animated Series. Next to it. I see the pile of comics. Related tp the Karkoa Storyline...I let out a sigh. I know that the Marvel universe residing in is an off-shoot of earth-616 and not 616 Prime  but I'm still terrified that some variation of 616s awful present could become MHR's future. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there are enough differences (Like no House of M) that said bad future is completely averted. But I still can't help but think I need to talk to them about it. Maybe they can give me some reassurance. If nothing else I doubt they'd complain about having One more vocally supportive non-mutant of Professor Xavier's dream of co-existence...please let that still be his dream. 

I decide to grab the comic books and my copy of the 2012 Avengers film as well as my X-Men Movie trilogy box set. It's going to be pretty clear I'm not originally from MHR but  I don't care. How many people would get a chance to get their Marvel merch signed by real Marvel characters?

I let out a sigh as I look at my life-sized poster of Ms Marvel. Of all the Avengers she's ironically the one Avenger I'm hoping ISIN'T  there.  I've gone through dozens of conversations with her in my head and all but one end in a visceral argument with me telling  her some variation of "I hate you!" or "Kill yourself." Worse, I can't go into detail about how much I know because then I risk Meta-Gaming and if I meta-game without my player getting prior approval from the mods and players...I find myself looking to the ceiling as if shouting to some unknown god. "What's the point of having all of this Meta-Knowlege if I can't do anything with it....Ok I mean I know why but just...just....RUGHHH!!!" 

*deep breath* Easy Gwen just calm down...you can cross that bridge when you get there. maybe your player will have a plan about where he wants this to go...just get to the comic con and have fun right? Easy *Sigh* Famous last words I know.


(At the comic con on Earth MHR-616)

It still didn't feel real to be honest. Comic con in a comic book universe with real comic book characters. so...freaking...AWESOME!!!! 

My Ms. Marvel costume is going over well...a little too well to be honest. Every Twenty feet or so I'm getting stopped by people complimenting my costume and wanting to take a picture with me . several people have mistaken me for the real deal...that surprises me. I'm about half an inch shorter than Carol Danvers and about 9 lbs heavier, but without the Gwenpool outfit do I and Carol look that much alike? I know everyone on earth had at least one twin in nature (not including clones, shapeshifters, and multiversal variants) and while the idea that I could pass as a double for one of my childhood idols...just oh my gosh that's so Awesome, it also kind of scares me. Bless Carol's heart she has her enemies, not just supervillains but also people who hate her both for McKinney and her behavior after the civil war. She's taken the mantle of Captain Marvel now. She has for a while, but...maybe dressing up as her even if it is a mantel of the past, may not have been a good idea in hindsight.... you know what. no. If the players are going to write in drama in this thread they'll find some way to bring it in. I'll just enjoy myself while I can...again how many people like me would ever have an opportunity like this. Still, it's getting kind of annoying. I'm ecstatic that people are liking my costume so much, I love being able to create so many smiles...but I'd REALLY like to be able to some of these tables and get some autographs from the heroes. I let out a gasp as I see people like Dazzler. Holy crap can I get her to sign my Dad's vintage Casablanca Records Dazzler Album? There are so many other heroes too. Dang, I want to get their attention any of their attention.

James stood around and talked to some fans asking why he never played any sports. James just smiled and said it was not his calling. He spent some time getting autographs and trying to avoid some ladies who were getting too touchy feely also bothering him. He made his way back over to Dazzler."Hi Alison, been rough lately apparently, I have a few fans here. How have you been doing? oh I see you have a few with you." He waits for her or her party to respond then he looks over and sees Patrick. "Patrick, Hey Patrick... long time no see how have you been." He overheard some commotion over by the 12 o'clock stage it struck his interest."Sorry, I have to go check on something I'll be back in a few if your all still around." He soon bought a couple World famous hotdogs ate them quickly and then headed over to see what was going on.

Two hours later:

Warpath moved across the area trying to catch the guest speaker who after ten minutes unveiled the Stan lee statue and small memorial. Where fans can video tape and leave messages. He waited in line for about ten minutes and finally got to leave his message.

James smiled as so many people looked up at him some worried. He stood in front of the video booth and left his message. "Stan Lee was great man and creator of a universe, the Marvel universe he deserves much recognition for the things he did. He went against the norm and believed everyone had their own inner hero. We will miss you."

(OOC In OOC for fun you can write your own thoughts maybe how you got into comics or what made you like comics in general, even Roleplaying or just give your own take also, for fun. He made Marvel, he was the heart of Marvel. Stan Lee did so many things made the X-men who dealt with prejudice like nobody else even tried before I was born. The Incredible Hulk and the show got me into comics, he was my favorite as a kid.)

Mr. Li was relaxing for a moment when a costumed Spider-man approached him. Mr.Li was shocked for a moment as a Spider-man dressed person approached him. " Hi there, Jacob, nice costume what brings you here today? Alison Blaire nice to meet you also. Would you all like a drink at the moment we have all kinds of soda a few energy drinks and water, my treat? Mr. Li was looking around at security making sure everyone is safe he is a little concerned with the large crowds.

People came and went, a few of them talking to Dazzler but basically ignoring Marie, which she didn't mind as lets face it, Dazzler was world famous or something, Marie had seen her on TV many times over the years, and it was good to see that at least a bit of TV was true, given how much of it had turned out to be a disappointment, let-down or even an outright lie.

With nobody specific interacting with her, Marie went back to wandering the convention, chatting with random attendees, letting them take pictures with her, and adding a few phone numbers to her cell from the occasional guy (and one girl) who were braver or more optimistic than most.

Time passed, and she'd switched costumes on a whim. No longer Princess Peach, now she was Samus Aran clad in her zero suit. It was her first time out as a cosplayer, and it felt good to get some feedback on her various costumes, especially when it was so positive.

Patrick continued to make his way around the convention, very uncertain and keeping mainly to himself. After what happened with the senator's murder that he had been accused of, he wouldn't doubt in the slightest that some might still see him as guilty even though his name was fully cleared beyond a reasonable doubt. It wouldn't even make a difference if the whole world knew that he was with the Avengers Academy. There'd always be some suspicion surrounding him.

What made matters worse was the fact that he didn't really know anyone who was milling around the convention center. If he knew someone and had the chance to talk to them, it might help him relax just a bit and not feel so nervous or awkward. But, that was the unfortunate thing about what happened with him. All he could do for now was hope that, as he made his way around the convention center, someone might be willing to talk to him . . .
