Spiraling Out of Control (Kurt & open)

Kurt sat at his desk, the papers on the desk were unmarked apart from the one he had made dots of from his tapping. His mind was elsewhere and there was only one thing for him to do. He couldn't go on like this but he had no choice. They wouldn't understand, none of them would. He tried to hide it all and tried to tell someone but it had gone nowhere. Now though it was almost too late. One last job.... a deal. First was one stop before he left. He wrote a note on a nearby postit.

"Email Logan 24 hours"

He hoped they would understand that he had sent an email to Logan but that it wouldn't be sent until 24 hours time. Then he got up, switched off his laptop and light before

He reappeared at his normal church. He hadn't been there for so long he felt odd taking the steps up to the main door. He felt a tug on his long jacket and looked down smiling at a Bamf which looked worried at him. The Bamf disappeared to go to McCoy's lab sitting on one of the working benches trying not to touch anything whilst watching for McCoy to come in

Meanwhile Kurt walked further into the church to the confessional booth. He stepped in and closed the door.

"Father, it has been too long since my last confession. I have so much to confess..."

His voice trailed off as he felt a lump in his throat. If he spoke now it would all be in vane. He let out a long sigh as he stood and left. The voice of the priest fading into the background as he tugged his trench coat around and put his hat back on his head. He left for one last mission.

He hoped Cable would know something or Rachel, Logan would know soon enough. For now though he traveled on silently praying that he had the strength to do this one last task. To save all he could and hopefully, somehow, come out on top. Maybe Jean or Scott could have helped but they were both busy getting their own lives together.

He sped into the night searching for the person he needed to give a message to. Hoping they wouldn't just kill him on sight.

The key to a laboratory was knowledge. Even if the Beast himself moved through his lab in ways that were not foreseen by anyone designing the equipment within, where he gripped and grabbed it from the ceiling with dexterous feet, he still knew exactly what was in every beaker, every graduated cylinder, every container that was touched or moved.

This was not true of someone not familiar with their contents, or of even more concern, one unfamiliar with chemistry at all. Most certainly this would include the little interdimensional imp that was currently waiting in his lab, even an interdimensional imp with very careful and very specific instructions.

The Beast entered his lab as he often did in a lab coat. He also wore black trunks. Beyond this he was covered in blue-gray fur, much like his little visitor. While he lacked the spaded tail of his visitor, he instead had massive hands and massive feet.

He noticed his visitor between sips of coffee from a plain white mug.

"I take it from your presence here, that Kurt needs something. I shouldn't have to remind him that if there is something wrong with his image inducer, that's more of Forge's specialty."

The Bamf beamed at McCoy when he finally turned up. He was just about to start experimenting with some of McCoy's equipment. He lowered his hand off of one rather interesting dial rather slowly showing he hadn't touched. Which compared to normal behaviour it was being rather tame. This Bamf had spent a lot of time in med bay for one reason or another... mainly to do with accidents and experiments. Then again as some couldn't even tell them apart it could have been lots of different ones.

He nodded his head then shook his head at Beast's words.

"Not allowed to talk about it but... yes. I think I can show. I'll show then you get others? I can't get... they will know. If you find out then I didn't tell."

He moved over to McCoy and held out a little hand as if to shake it. There was more worry in its' face than mischief or mayhem. The fact it hadn't started tinkering with things just showed how worried it was.

The speech patterns of the little creature were certainly idiosyncratic. The Beast dealt with many whose idiolects bordered on a very niche dialect. The X-man himself often spoke in ways that left others flummoxed. This was confusing, probably somewhat exacerbated by the Bamf's panic.

The panic seemed to be about the creature's tendency to not follow directions, even though for now it did follow the Beast's instructions not to touch anything within his lab.

The Bamf said that it couldn't say but could show. At first, he thought that this was due to exacerbation. It continued on, revealing that it wasn't meant to tell anyone what exactly Nightcrawler was up to. Whatever it was and whatever Nightcrawler's reasons, the Bamf must have been concerned enough to try and get around those instructions.

"Whatever it is your tongue doesn't speak," the Beast began, "I am reasonably certain whatever it is you show me will do the talking for it."

The Bamf made a little humming noise before gently touching Beast then:

One smooth teleport later they were in Kurt's classroom where the papers still laid unmarked and the top one had dots from all his tapping. Nothing had been moved from earlier but now the Bamf moved to the computer and turned it back on. It's tail was twitching like mad as it looked around hoping that he wouldn't see other eyes looking at it. If they found out he would be in more trouble and Kurt... it was unthinkable....

The screen lit up and in seconds he was typing the password before frantically clicking on various buttons. One more password and the emails were up. The Bamf moved out of the way before pointing at the postit. There was the email, timed to leave in 22 hours, 34 minutes and 19 seconds time. Once opened it would say.

"Guten Tag mein Freund. If you get this then I need help. I'm on a task that means more than my own life. I had to follow instructions of a woman called Baroness Blood after delivering a letter. What the instructions are and what I have to do... I can't say. If it means my life then it was for a good cause. Remember Blue is Good, Red is ....

The Bamf didn't look at what Beast was doing but kept watch, its tail swishing and head looking around. He just hoped he had done right and not cause more problems.

"Baroness Blood . . .  that is a name I am not familiar with. Still, the nom de guerre is concerning. In the best case scenario, she is merely some manner of warlord, naming herself by a combination of ancient title and what drips down her sharpened blade. Given the other connotations, she may be a vampire or a hemokinetic or worse, both at once, worse still would be a trifecta."

"If this message was originally intended for the Wolverine, it would not be unreasonable to surmise that she is a formidable physical opponent. One does not need to invoke a berserker for a push over"

"If she is indeed a vampire, he may be planning a beheading. If not, claws are still eviserating."

He then addressed the Bamf directly. 

"Do you know where Nightcrawler is now? To be clear, this not an invitation to teleport us directly there at this moment. It is simply an inquiry."

The Bamf just looked at Beast with a quizzical manner. The ramblings were indeed true... at least in part. It seemed to get a little board of all the talking and started to sit down and mark some of the papers.. that at least explained how Kurt was still keeping his class in order. It was clear that the one with Beast was bright in that sense. He pushed the piece of paper with so many inky dots on the page from Kurt's own tapping of the pen as he had waited for the time. Then considered the question. It was indeed tempted to teleport the pair of them there but that wouldn't help. Beast was only one person and he knew Kurt would need help either medically or physically. He looked at McCoy with a tilt of his head.

"No and yes. I can track Daddy. That's easy. Knowing where he is now without tracking... harder. Can't tell you more."

It seemed to look past McCoy and for a moment looked afraid making a meeping noise before frantically trying to get on with the marking. If McCoy was quick enough to look a pair of red eyes and a red tail could have been momenterally be seen before a red BAMF vanished.

"He isn't here I can tell you that."

The Bamf said in a hurry.

The Beast did notice the red little imp, and although the Nightcrawler's couplet had been cut short, it didn't take a lot to complete it given the basic rules of poetic symmetry. There was something wrong with the red imps. They may be of an enemy, perhaps due to the taint of this Baroness Blood.

"Did you see that?", he asked the Bamf without elaboration. If the creature had surely seen something extraordinary, he would not need to give any additional information. If nothing had been seen, it wouldn't require explanation.

In merest moments, it would not matter if the Bamf had seen the disturbance or not. Everything would be purely academic, because three of the fire-red fiends appeared with the familiar scent of sulfur. The trio of terrors swiped and spat and clawed and swatted with arms and legs and teeth and tail.

"We must be close to something if this violent intrusion into our abode is any indication!"

The blue Bamf nodded and was able to say one word.

"Grandad!"

Then more appeared the blue Bamf started and flinched.

"I didn't say! I didn't tell!"

He jumped onto the table and stood in front of McCoy.

"He doesn't know!"

The Bamf's tail flicked around as he stood his ground one against three. Battered at claws trying to stop them from getting to McCoy.

"Exit?"

As it was fighting it grabbed a pencil from the pot on the table with it's tail and started jabbing at the three but seemed almost reluctant to cause any actual harm.

"Back up?"

He was hoping that others might possibly hear the fight and come to help. They were in a school full of mutants but it was also rather late. It hissed as one red bamf landed a blow on its arm with the claws. It went to strike that one back but didn't follow through.

Jean grey felt a disturbance while in the White room, Nightcrawler and her friends were in danger that much she could tell. part of her started to panic and then she took a deep breath. The nice thing about the white room was that time had no meaning. She could take however much time she needed to locate her friends and get to them at a moment's notice. So she closed her eyes and concentrated. The universe began to reveal itself around her and she concentrated harder and harder on the disturbance. Then she found it. and homed in on it. The School. The laboratory, a small blue Bamf fighting a bunch of Red Ones, she could also sense something else too. Nightcrawler was in trouble.

Using her cosmic teleportationJean appeared in the room in with a mighty ball of phoenix fire. with a loud "WOOSH. shielding the Bamf with her body. Her white and yellow spandex was now the normal dark red and yellow

"Stay close to me little one."

She grabbed the Red Bamf that was attacking by it's head and engulfed it in flames causing it to burn to ash in an instant. 

From the corner of her eye she could see Beast. She realized this would be the first time he had seen her since her death during the battle with Apocalypse  "Hello Hank, Long time no see."

The Beast (Hank McCoy)

The Beast was true to his name. His size had always been formidable even before his secondary blue-furred mutation brought on by his ill-fated experiment. His overly large hands and feet were what gave him his eventually nom de guerre, then applied on the gridiron. 

He could almost fit the little red bamfs in his palm. This aided him in his strike about as much as the fact that he was familiar with the fighting style of the homunculi's azure doppelgänger.

He was not going to toss the creature hither and yon. There was too much in the lab that could be broken. So, he fought conservatively, a punch here, a backhand there, a knee across that, timed between teleports. Even with his skill, a few hits missed, but it was a numbers game.

Aid came from one of the first X-men. It wasn't long after their formation that the little boys' club, himself, Cyclops, Iceman, and Angel was opened up by Marvel Girl, who eventually went by her given name, Jean Grey. She grew as they all did, but she became one of the most powerful among them.

She, as many in this strange heroes' world had done, had died and been brought back to life. This most recent event was at the hands of Apocalypse and his Horsemen. 

"Jean, I had heard that you had cheated Binky's rider, but now I cannot doubt it."

When Jean incinerated the red bamf the fight slowly stopped as they turned and looked at her in horror. The blue Bamfs stepped away from the red and turned to Jean growling at her. The fight was nearly over but Jean had NOT won any friends in them. The one blue Bamf looked at McCoy with fear and sadness. Scrapping was one thing, seeing another Bamf turn to ash was another. There were still two scrapping in one corner but eventually they too stopped. The blue Bamf spoke to the red.

"We didn't tell them anything. He is still there!"

The blue Bamfs waited for the red to vanish from the fight before it offered a hand to McCoy.

"Come?"

It looked up at Jean with fear in its eyes. A blue Bamf reappeared looking increadibly worried.

"Not good! Not good at all! Daddy's tired and well... ohhhh hello beautiful."

Its attention drawn to Jean as it tried to slick its fur back and tried to flirt. The first blue Bamf hit it on the arm and looked at it quizzically.

Phoenix looked to the Bamf with a bit of sadness in her eyes. she had scared the thing and it was clear that her killing the red one had emotionally hurt. "forgive me, I was just trying to protect you."

She looked to Beast, "In truth, It was not my intention to return to the X-men nor do I plan on staying, I fear if I stayed it'd cause...unnecessary friction and drama among the team. But, I will not stand by while one of my friends is in danger."

She smiled as one of the bamfs tried to flirt with her. "Hello, little one. She then knelt down to be closer to his level. "Look, contrary to what you may think I'm not omnipotent. I have limits (This was technically accurate. Though these limits were subconsciously self-imposed.) I need to know what's going on. You need not tell me anything just let me peer into your mind so that I may know what's going on and figure out a way to help."

She legitimately started to plead. "Please. Kurt's life is at stake."

The Bamf nodded and allowed Jean to search into his mind. By doing so he wasn't breaking anything...technically.

Jean searched his mind and she saw it.

She saw Nightcrawler fighting the vampire Baroness Blood. She frowned. Vampires were merely a nuisance for someone like her, She was immune to vampire bites, heck all she needed to do was get a solid grip on the baroness and she could make her a pure human again but Not everyone was the physical manifestation of a goddess of life itself. Why had Kurt been so foolish as to go after this woman alone? Those questions would have to wait until the situation was resolved.

"Thank you." she said to the bamf giving him a smile. Causing him to blush and shyly shake back and forth.

Jean then looked to Beast. "Keep the lab and the mansion secured as best you can. I have a nuisance to take care of."

And with that, she teleported in a pillar of Phoenix fire. cosmically teleporting to Where Nightcrawler and Baroness Blood were located.
