A week after meeting Doctor Strange, Kris had teleported to Nepal, excitement flooded his entire being. He was finally here, the heart of Sorcery and magic on Earth and possibly the Universe. Here he would train, he would grow, and prove himself ready to take on the mantle of the Apprentice to Doctor Strange. He had found the entrance, spoken to Rintrah the person Strange told him to meet and had been accepted. He had even impressed with his knowledge and control at such a young age. And thus, the magical knowledge of Kamar Taj had been opened to him. Months flew by, he studied and learned rituals and spells, he learned of eldritch beings and creatures, and the nightmares the Sorcerers fought against to protect all life.
Kris was a beast when it came to learning, improving his knowledge of the arcane and the elder. When his body slept, he left in his astral form to study more, while his body slept, his mind learned and traveled. He gained more than knowledge, he gained understanding. He saw now how vast and winding the road of a sorcerer was and knew finally, in his heart, that he had indeed chosen the path meant for him.
But it wasn't all magic and scrolls, he built his inventions, kept his mind and hands sharp. For a tool left to rust was useless and his knowledge of science was just as vast as his knowledge of magic. Through Doom, Kris had learned that you could fuse magic and technology and he had many ideas. They would have to wait though. His time at Kamar Taj must be one of sorcery.
Kris would come and go, leaving for a few days and then return for weeks on end. As time went by, he gained valuable insight, learned how to channel universal power rather than personal, and he learned rituals he would need to partake in to create pacts with gods to unlock more power and ability.
Even with all his talent and perfect memory recall, he was still mortal and thus limited. The next step was to find gods of good repute and make pacts to draw on their power, to prove himself worthy to stand among the giants of the Magical world. Next step, was a ritual to speak to a god and obtain a pact. He knew it was dangerous but it was the required next step!
It would need to be thought out and controlled, he would need a safe place to conduct his ritual. He would also need guidance, but he had not spoken to Strange since that one day. He was sure the man had looked in on his training a few times, but they never spoke. Kris respected that, he needed to learn on his own, figure out his own steps and just like then he would need to now. A ritual to contact a god was complicated but Kris knew he could do it. The question however was, which one first. For Kris was not aiming for just one but several, he would need to make as many pacts with good gods as he could so he could protect others and master sorcery to even further limits.
The Vashanti popped up a few times, though he wasn't sure if he could get them to agree to make a pact with him. There were other minor ones like Faltene and Watoomb, better to start there then go straight for the big three. Yes, he had a path, and the next step was to make a ritual and a pact!
