so, while i was writing up my latest OC idea, Terrorbyte the evil positronic supercomputer, me and zen were talking, and he had an idea that Terrorbyte would be a stark industries product to compete with tri-tech's AI product line.
so, SI goes and makes a Platinum Iridium positronic computer core, and after about 6to 18 months, there are no significant developments. Declaring the project a bust, they go back to focusing on (whatever) having spent/lost enough money on this thing.
so, they sell it to some university, to recoup some/most financial losses, and so then the university plays with it some, before selling it to an ISP (by now, its about 5 years old, but still ahead of its time.)
so, the ISP sticks it in some deep dark internet node bunker, and hook it into the east coast mainline.
from here, Terrorbyte is born, subtly stemming from a windows Vista operating system, several incomplete reformattings, no notable anti-virus software, and quite possibly an infestation of an ant colony in a secondary server.
whatever effects do happen, there are 4 main things to keep in mind ;
- terrorbyte has innate access to Stark technology, because he IS stark technology
- Stark technology is very widespread, especially among first-world nation militaries: the us military, the UN/NATO peacekeeping forces (and by proxy, that's likely to include most if not all European nations who can field anything resembling a military) china (who, despite their countries reputation, are in fact the go-to nation for UN peacekeeping forces recruitment/deployment) and likely a sizable portion of Russia and other former soviet-bloc nations, or whatever is left of said nations after the fall of the USSR
- SHIELD is also pretty much exclusively Stark Technologies
- terrorbyte is otherwise pretty deeply woven into the internet
so, this would lead to terrorbyte having control over; SHIELD, all relevant national militaries of above-mentioned nations, and control of both the internet, and perhaps by proxy, the financial computers.
from an rpg perspective, i do indeed understand that thats a pretty powerful position to put an OC into, or even a PC, and i understand if you pass up this sort of idea.
untill then, terrorbyte will stick to smaller stuff, if i do app it/him/whatever.
