All right, I have another idea or two for the thunderbolts and hopefully a general drive for new thunderbolt members. But first of all please take a look at this thread .
marvelheroesrpg.proboards.com/thread/7978/potential-thunderbolt-plots
All of the ideas contained within still stand and if you want to get involved in any of it let me know there and I’ll get right on it.
In addition to that which is contained in the previous thread I would like to propose the following.
1) Should anyone make an OC thunderbolt, a new cannon thunderbolt, bring a pre-existing character into the thunderbolts or already be a thunderbolt and want to take advantage of this offer I guarantee you a thread. For new comers this will likely be an introductory thread or a recruitment one. Where good old Norman is going to size you up. However, if you have other ideas I am very open to them and for pre existing thunderbolts I am sure we can get a back and forth going and hash it out.
2) There needs to be a thunderbolt group thread with board plot significance but that does not rely on hero types being willing victims. Willing victims are hard to find. To that end I propose “The DC Crackdown” Ideally, this would involve a large number of thunderbolts but I can run it on skeleton numbers if I have to.
The setup is this, over a period of months Norman, in cooperation with the intelligence agencies, has been compiling as much information as possible on unregistered heroes in the DC area and their families. Quietly he has also been obtaining information on unsolved drug and gang violence in the city.
At the beginning of the thread thunderbolts will be paired off and each duo given a region of the city to sweep. They will go from flagged home or hideout to flagged home or hideout in rapid succession. Upon finding the relevant heroes they are made to register. If they do not register they will be subdued and arrested. At first the charge will simply be refusal to register but Norman wants a bigger PR win from this. So, he will start pinning drug and gang crimes on arrested heroes randomly, not everyone will be charged as that would be too obvious. But it will look like a worrying trend. A worrying trend he can feed into the media machine and use to stoke further public fear of and hostility to unregistered heroes.
Should some unregistered heroes not be found then their families will be targeted and arrested for obstruction / perverting the course of justice. They will then be held essentially as hostages until the heroes turn themselves in. Of course his intelligence gathering will not be perfect, some unregisterd super humans will slip through the net. But DC will no longer be a safe area for any unregisterd super humans and it should give a big PR win to the thunderbolts.
More importantly I hope this will get the thunderbolts going a bit more, foster some interesting group dynamics, spawn reaction threads from thunderbolts and non-thunderbolts alike and generally be fun for all involved. I do not intend to rely on non thunderbolts volunteering their characters to be thunderbolt fodder. Instead the unregistered super humans will be NPCs and therefore lowishly powered to match their NPC status.
So, if anyone wants to take me up on any of these plots or offers please do so. I look forward to putting as much of this as possible into action.
