Planet Earth has had many troubles occurred on its diverse soil, but this time, its biggest issue would arise from the stars itself. The space-faring race known as the Kree have decided to have its fleet scour across space, floating all around the sphere-like shape of the planet. Strangely, none of the ships have fired as of yet. But, the commanding ship of the fleet has sent out a signal to be picked-up by various radio stations. The issue would be the language it was spoken in. Many listeners would find it strange to hear the alien words spoken through their radios as they drove the streets. But that also meant it didn't take long for the message to be intercepted and translated by S.H.I.E.L.D. With the foreboding message giving ominous pause to the agents deciphering the message, the director would soon call together a team to inform them of the new mission that was of the utmost importance to complete.

-------------------- Well, this was just what they needed right now. The Peak detected the incoming ships but it didn't take the Kree long to surround them and start barking orders. At least they had been somewhat vague, but this wasn't going to make keeping things secret any easier. And he wasn't quite sure if he was ready to play any hands yet. If only these damn Kree had waited a while longer. How did they even find out they were here? He might have to let some in on what was happening. In the meantime, he had The Peak signal to the ships for a parley. He had to play for some time, at the very least.
Unlike most, Tony Stark did know what the Kree were after. He knew exactly what they after. The problem was, they couldn't deliver. Only a handful of people even knew there were Skrulls currently entrenched somewhere on the planet. And the Skrulls currently hiding god knows where were sure as hell not about to drop their cover to spare Earth. And given this situation, Stark was having troubles deciding who to trust. Normally he would go and speak to a force like this himself, but these other factors made him feel like he should be where he could keep an eye on everything. Even now he was monitoring as much as he could across the Earth, searching for odd movement patterns and people operating in a way that wasn't normal with this new development. Only people who understood Kree had any reason to panic right now. SHIELD already had announcements playing to assure the public there was nothing to worry about.
So if he wasn't going himself, he needed to appoint a suitable replacement as ambassador. There were only a certain number of people on hand he could call on right away, but he knew which direction he wanted to go with this. Sending top level Avengers might seem too aggressive. Stark wanted the Kree to feel like the more powerful, not make them feel challenged. They might just decide to wipe out the planet on principal. So he needed someone who didn't come off threatening, but could still handle themselves if things turned ugly. Thus, the lead for his diplomatic team was Squirrel Girl. She had an uncanny ability to come out on top against all odds, was friendly and good at making friends with the most unlikely beings, and at first glance was probably the least threatening superhero out there. She also had another benefit. One of the Skrulls that had been found had been impersonating Squirrel Girl, which made this Doreen one of the strongest candidates for trust on the roster.
Next there was Plan B. While the diplomacy team tried to smooth things over, Stark was also going to plan for the worst. An infiltration team was going to sneak around and plant explosives in case they needed to fight. Now who did he have on hand to lead this team? Another good choice in his opinion: Mockingbird. Barbara was experienced and capable, and Stark felt she could handle a rough assignment like this. And another bonus: She was also someone a skrull had impersonated before. The Skrull-Mockingbird had died sometime ago and they had all thought Barbara was gone. Then she was rescued by the Guardians of the Galaxy and that's when Stark exhumed the corpse they had buried. This meant Barbara was also on his very short list of people who had good odds of not currently being a Skrull.
With the leaders picked out, he filled out the rest of the team. Unfortunately he was out of people who he felt he could trust for sure and had to leave it to chance. Still, he felt he did the best he could under the circumstances. Regardless, this was how they were moving forward. Meanwhile, he was going to hang back and see if he couldn't locate some aliens on the planet.
The group had been called forth and flown up to The Peak where they were sat in a conference room. A secretary handed out dossiers that detailed the team they were on and the mission specifics for said team. After a few minutes, the metallic form of Iron Man walked in and began the debrief.
"Alright, you've all been given you team assignments in the dossiers. Diplomacy Team, you'll head to the lead Kree vessel for the meeting where you'll find out exactly what they're looking for and either try to convince them that it's not here or at least that razing the planet isn't the way to solve the problem. Infiltration Team, you will take a stealth jet to the lead ship and wait on standby as Plan B. If Plan A fails and the Kree still want a fight, then you will start planting the explosives at key points. I've provided some schematics indicating where to do so in your dossiers, Iron Heart, I'll have them uploaded to your harddrive. I'll also start putting together a squad of Avengers as backup in case of emergency. Call them Plan C. Hopefully we can avoid a fight, but be ready for the worst. The Kree are not to be taken lightly. Any questions?" Iron Man said.

The existence of aliens had been proven as fact for a while. Formerly limited to theorems and mere plausibility, recent years had proven the existence of extraterrestrial beings beyond any shadow of doubt. While Riri was in no way an expert in alien knowledge, MAGGIE had gathered all knowledge regarding the Kree available to them upon being briefed of the mission. A strong military empire spanning galaxies, a natural physiology twice the capabilities of an average human, a level of technology far surpassing human advancement.... The Kree Empire would be considered at minimum a Type III civilization on the Kardashev scale. For reference, humanity's achievements had only amounted to 0.73 on the same scale. Tony Stark had decided to take a different approach, opting to negotiate with the Kree as equals, while at the same time preparing for all out conflict between Earth and the empire. Riri questioned his judgement, though she still followed his orders out of respect. Ironheart had been placed in the infiltration team, otherwise known as Plan B. She'd also been entrusted coordinates and structural analysis of the Kree's ships in order to find vulnerabilities. As usual, Riri would be taking on a mainly support role, ensuring the other members of her team reached the objective points while minimizing contact with the Kree forces. In high stakes, high complexity missions such as these, synergy and coordination between the team members were an absolute necessity. Riri needed to account for the abilities, quirks, and personalities of all her team members to ensure the highest possible rate of success for the mission. --------------------

Doreen might have been a SHIELD agent, but she didn't actually get called in for many missions. Her spare time was in super-high demand as it was, and they knew it. As a result, when they did call on her, it was usually for something big like Doctor Doom, or the like. But when the summons came from the Co-Director himself? Squirrel Girl would always answer the call of her pard, his current position just made it all the easier to put at top priority.
It didn't take much to work out what it was going to relate to, half the world had probably noticed already. But since she didn't speak Kree, she reported in knowing nothing more than anyone else. Along with Tippy Toe on her shoulder, Agent Green took her seat and began reading through the dossier she had been handed. It was the usual efficiency she'd come to expect from SHIELD, but seemed somewhat short on details. So this was as much a fact finding mission as the diplomacy, then.
Tony's briefing gave her a lot more to work with, in terms of understanding what was going on at least. It basically confirmed her 'find out what's going on' theory, which was good to know in as much as it meant she still had a good understanding of the way Tony thought. But the fact that he was basically revealing his backup plans to her right before sending her into the heart of the crisis zone? That clearly suggested he had a plan D. And probably a few more letters as well.
Of course, this understanding went both ways. When he asked if there were any questions, she simply shook her head. Between the dossier and his talk, it had all been covered. As much as she'd like to stick around to catch up with him, it seemed there were infinitely more important things to worry about right now. Her time and Tony's was undoubtedly best spent getting on with their respective tasks.

Bobbi was currently sat at the table, surrounded by people she mostly trusted, clad in her usual combat outfit and her staff in its normal spot. She was anxious to get going, but she knew it was important to get everyone up to speed, so she simply read through the dossier she'd been given, understanding her role in the upcoming mission. She was meant to be part of the first back up plan for dealing with the Kree, if diplomacy didn't work, and she had a fairly good idea of where they could cause the most damage. Still, she had a feeling she was considered more of the "brawn" of the group, used in case they were discovered, as she was very handy in a fight.
Once Stark had finished debriefing everyone, she asked "So do you guys want me to help plant the explosives, or just be the first contact, so to speak, in case the Kree come looking for a fight? Oh, and what's going to be the signal, in case they don't want to make nice?" She knew most of the information was in the dossier, but she wanted to hear from the others, so she could make her own adjustments as needed.

Geniuses, accomplished agents, and an avenger. In which of those categories did the young agent fall? None. For reference, she was an angry, simple-minded, obstinate young woman that was, without a doubt quite scarred, who recently had seen relative success in following orders, most would argue that she was a rabid dog that you sic in a general direction and watch it do its damage. Of all the people available, why her? That was the only question that she could think of, the was fairly out of place there. She felt it and probably everyone else in the room did so too.
While it wasn't a secret that she was used to be surrounded by individuals more powerful than she ever could hope to be and also had visited space before, the idea of going into an enemy space ship do perhaps just do some distraction and end up in a terrible shootout was not appealing, though it was something that she would never refuse to do so. Death wasn't as much of a concern as it would just end a life that wasn't on its best years, but it wasn't exactly suicide as Stark was known to be, to put it simple the smartest and the most clever man around, in her mind, she wasn't putting her life away, yet in the hindsight, the plan did require some faith to work especially when the man himself wasn't going himself.
"..."
Beatriz was terribly hesitant to share her concern about the idea, especially while she herself didn't have a plan to deal with the said situation, her lack of faith in the vice director simply came from the fact that she couldn't understand why she was even there. She was basically a ball of unquenched rage, a hulk without the ability to hulk out, and yet, she was to accompany the positive energy embodied: Squirrel girl. While it was clear that she was there to just help her out with an eventual escape should the need arise. The idea of going on a diplomacy mission was just unthinkable, it was indeed a different assignment.
"Sorry for bringing this one in such a bad moment but... Why me? I can see why everyone else is here. But me? To support Ms.Green? I need a little bit of enlightenment on my role because I can't see how I will help to be beside her in this specific mission."

Agent Jack Sampson would be going over the dossier Stark provided in preparation for the mission at hand. In it, it provided the roster given to the two teams led by Doreen Green and Bobbi Morse. Agent Green would be the one leading the negotiations. Her squad included herself, Jack Sampson, and one Agent Smith. Sampson would turn to the right to see Agent Smith, as he was one he wasn't entirely familiar with. The same agent would then go on to correct Beatriz on where she would be on the team. "Sorry gal, you're on Mockingbird's team. I'm with your CO on diplomacy." Jack would nod towards the direction of Beatriz, whenever she did turn towards Jack for confirmation. Jack would then check the roster for infiltration. It included Bobbi Morse, Beatriz de Jesus, Maria Sanchez and Riri Williams. There would then be a schematic that was an estimation for the layout of what the Kree warship would look like. Such a map did kinda show to Jack how smart their Director actually was. It's a bit scary if he actually figured out what the inside of that ship looks like. The files on the infiltration objectives involved uploading the actual schematic of the ship (and hopefully on the ships within the rest of their fleet), and then to find the particular vulnerabilities to exploit by essentially blowing them right up. It's essentially implied that when Plan B commences, then Plan C won't be too far behind. Though when planting the bombs, they must make sure to not activate the devices until negotiations possibly fall through. If diplomacy fails, then Plan B would have to be a go. This meant that careful communication was needed between the two teams and the Director. Team Diplomacy would always have their comms on to allow Stark (and the other agents in the debriefing room) to listen in on whatever the group spoke about towards the Kree on the command ship. Hopefully, the peace talks would prove successful when communicating with the Kree. Cause the files do mention that the Kree ships had enough fire power to essentially glass their planet, while having energy shields that could prove resistant to some of the most powerful nuclear bombs that Earth had to offer. Let's hope that doesn't happen. I don't want to come back to lifeless rock.Jack would look towards the rest of the group in preparation for whatever came next. "When do we start moving out?"

For the most part they took it all in stride which was good. One was wondering about her place on the team though. Agent de Jesus was not the standard here, it was true. But he was shorthanded and also hoping Skrulls couldn't replicate the undead. This was just a hope though, so there was no confirmation Beatriz wasn't a Skrull. But he had to play the odds to find out who he could trust. Iron Man nodded in agreement of Agent Smith's correction and elaborated.
"Agent de Jesus, your place is as back up on the Infiltration Team. Ironheart will handle the tech side, you and Mockingbird will be on lookout and if you become compromised you're there to help fight. You're a rather unique individual and I'm hoping that can throw the Kree off if it comes to a battle. Otherwise, just support your team members as needed. Same for you, Mockingbird. If something happens, you're in charge of reacting and giving orders as needed." Iron Man said. The final question was Agent Sampson's.
"Now." Iron Man answered, glancing at the timer he had running on his HUD. No more time for questions, "I know this was all thrown together quickly and some of you might be feel a bit nervous about it all, but this is what happens in this job. Sometimes we have to do the best we can with what we have on hand. I trust you'll all do your best to protect the planet and I believe you can pull this off. Good luck." he finished with a nod. Then he left them to head off and finish their prep before heading out. Meanwhile, he had a planet to monitor...

The members of her team were Maria Sanchez, Beatriz de Jesus and Barbara Morse, also known as Mockingbird. The latter two possessed a skill set with degrees of similarity, though used with different approaches. The records regarding Maria Sanchez didn't show anything particularly special. Her performance level were average and she had some experience in espionage. The only thing that stood out from her records was an incident agent Sanchez was involved in 2 months 1 week and 3 days ago. It wasn't related to the objective of her current query, but Riri decided to remember the details of it in case it became necessary. Agent de Jesus had constantly demonstrated an aggressive, head-on approach to obstacles. While having good combat sense and improvisational skills, she was also prone to bouts of anger and so far proven unable to avoid significant collateral damage. Additional support would be needed to achieve more reliable rates of stealth. Mockingbird was a more experienced agent. Proficient in stealth and espionage, her skillset blended nicely with the mission's objective. Aside from a few isolated incidents, she has a stable temperament and was not easily provoked. Out of the three of them, she would be the one most likely to be successful without any incidents. However, in a scenario where they are surrounded by enemy forces, rate of survival significantly lowers. Finally Riri herself. In terms of physical capabilities and instincts she was by and far the most unqualified for this mission. However, her technological prowess, pattern analyzing, and most importantly the Ironheart suit's various capabilities would turn her into an indispensable support to enhance the success ratio of other agents. While having all 4 agents going separate ways would yield the best efficiency, a strategic pairing would improve chances of success while sacrificing time. Now all she needed to do was present her hypothesis. "Ummm...." Riri raised her arm. --------------------

A few questions had been asked by the others on the mission, and she listened to the answers, even though she was not overly concerned with them. Other than the 'when are we moving out' one, which when Tony gave his reply, she stood up and headed to the door, turning towards the hangar. She knew the way, having only just come from there. She was REALLY looking forward to another trip in OUTER SPAAAACE!!!, though the importance of the mission was kind of forcing her to stay uncharacteristically professional, not least because she knew that many of the SHIELD staff would get needlessly worried if she started being... well, her usual self. Once the aliens who could destroy the planet if they wanted to had gone? Maybe then, but for now? Squirrel Girl might get distracted by the infinite potential for fun in outer space, but Agent Green would be on her best behaviour.
She checked through her belt pouches one last time, something she'd done before leaving Earth of course, but it was always good to make sure you remembered what was in which pocket. There was not much that would be of use on a diplomatic mission to an alien spaceship, but better safe than sorry.

Bobbi smiled at Tony Stark, and nodded, understanding her role a bit better. As she looked around at her team, she realized she would probably have to be the leader for at least part of the mission, since she had the most experience in these types of missions. As a result, she smiled at Beatriz when the young lady asked why her, simply saying "You'll do a great job, I'm sure. If you have any questions, just follow my lead or ask me, okay?"
When Riri raised her hand, Bobbi nodded toward her and asked "What's your question?" She wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page, hopefully they wouldn't have to fight the Kree but if they did, Bobbi had an idea of what she wanted to do. However, she wanted to hear any suggestions from the others, it was super important that they work together as a team on this, or it could go sideways very quickly. She did notice Agent Green leaving the room but didn't worry, the young lady was smart and if all else failed, well, she had her own backup.

Being as it was, at least her role was, definitely more familiar with her work. It was understandable, and from what it seemed everyone else seemed quite comfortable with this very situation, but she? She was not, especially when the enemy tag wasn't as clear as this one, once again leaving the creepy possibilities all open, maybe it was better for her to think about her own survival first and then morals later as things seemed to be very delicate and complicated.
With a nod, Beatriz acknowledged Bobbi's encouragement and a timid smile indicated that she took it in good faith, yet she didn't muster the courage to say anything else. She knew that in her position, she was at least expected to follow orders and be intimidated if need be and if things came to worse, she was pretty good at killing and no stranger to risks, the only thing that she still couldn't understand was, from all the people in the world, why her instead of either more veteran agents or heroes.
Even so, being accompanied by Riri was fairly more encouraging as they have been working together for some time by now and they had developed some sort of team chemistry or at least she hoped, moving towards her friend, but keeping silent as she did, going through her file and trying to understand what that was all about, but keeping an ear for what Riri might say.

Alright, since that meant it was time to head out, Jack would prepare himself mentally to head towards the hangar to get on his respective quinjet. Each team would be on their own aerial vehicle, aiming to head towards the main Kree Warship at the same time. The idea was to have the infiltration team maintain its own stealth mode, while the negotiation team had their quinjet visible and fully detectable by the radar. From the schematic, the infiltration would have a small opening in the bottom-center of the ship, This brings them closer to one of the exploitable weak-points of the ship, at least according to Stark's estimated schematic. The negotiation ship would be pulled in through the center via a tractor beam. They'd have to somehow hail the large spacecraft through the use of the signals that sent out a message to all the radio signals throughout Earth. A lot of hopes and possibilities are what the plan relies on in order to get through the typical energy field surrounding the ship in the first place. But everything was weighing on this plan to work. Otherwise, it'd be full-blown combat on both sides. And whether they win or lose, there was a good chance Earth could go through some severe damage at the end of all this. And so, with all these stakes in mind, Jack would head towards the hangar, following closely behind Squirrel Girl and Agent Randall Smith.

Riri had thought hard about the exact words she was going to say. No, really she did. But now that everyone in the group was paying attention to her, the girl froze up and all those prepared words were immediately forgotten. Instead, Riri simply stood there with her hand still raised up to the air and nothing but silence for almost 20 seconds. Her entire body tensed up, turning her into a human statue, not even a single breath coming out of her nostrils. "Um...." After those incredibly awkward 20 seconds, Riri would finally manage a sound, though she still couldn't come up with any words to express her thoughts. Not even that, Riri couldn't manage to say a single word. Her expression was frozen, her hand still up in the air as if trying to grab an invisible object out of the air. If she couldn't communicate her thoughts, Riri came out with the idea of showing it. The girl walked to the nearest computer and pulled up files on all 4 members of the team, highlighting the characteristics of each personnel and the records to prove it. Her hope was that the others would be able to come up with the conclusion she did when looking at the same data. (Data found in previous post) --------------------

The walk to the hangar wasn't a particularly long one, but by the time she got there Doreen was already beginning to wonder where the others were. They'd been told to move out 'now', so why wasn't everyone else here too? It was only when the others of her team walked in as well that she began to calm down. Maybe she'd simply walked faster than she'd realised or something. "Hi guys! I guess we're just getting on board, and the pilot will take us out once he's given the signal? Sorry, it's my first time leading a space mission." Of course, she could have left out the word 'space' and still been accurate, but that wasn't likely to inspire confidence in her backup.
On her shoulder, Tippy Toe chittered away in Squirrelese, which she replied to in English with a simple "Maybe later, T. We can ask Tony when we do the post mission chat thing. Debriefing."
She looked to the other bipedal members of her unit, with a broad smile that probably didn't do much to support her attempts at giving the impression that she was a professional, and inquired of them "Anyone got any stuff to do before we get on board?"
Assuming the answers were 'no', she turned to get on their transport vessel, sorting through a few pieces of card from one of her pouches, pulling out a couple and keeping hold of them, before putting the others back.
