My Fellow Americans (Norman Osborn, Sentry )

Norman walked into the oval office. His team was already setting the stage. Chair and fireplace already in place he walked over and looked into the now lit fire as the tv crew and office staff hurried around him. This was going to be a defining moment for him and America. He knew it would be the beginning of everything he wanted to accomplish. All the hours of backroom deals, Government spending writs, Board meetings, demands met and above all else, diplomacy that it took to get to this moment would be staggering to any normal man. Norman knew this and smiled. He looked to his left as one of his aids tapped his shoulder. "We are ready for you mister president" Norman would nod, Adjust his tie and suit and sit down in the chair. He would look at the camera and breath.
The cameraman would put up 3 fingers. Then 2 then 1 and point at Norman.

“My fellow Americans by now you have heard there are ships surrounding Earth. The news and radio stations are already talking about a message that has been received. I wanted to respond personally to this threat and to each and every American about this situation.

I am here to announce that America will not stand for this invasion or any other invasion nore will America stand for the incompetence of the current Defense organization SHIELD. So as of this moment I am calling into effect a new defense initiative for America.

H.A.M.M.E.R will be taking control of all American operations from the department of homeland security at home and abroad. This will include all past, future and present shield operations within America. America will be pulling all forces back home from any and all world conflicts. This order has already been issued and we can expect our troops home in little under a week.

H.A.M.M.E.R will be working in conjunction with shield and any other Heroic Organizations that wish to base themselves in America. H.A.M.M.E.R will be using any and all means to protect American interests in the weeks and months ahead and at the forefront of that protection will be our great American protector Sentry. Any and all Heroes or super humans that wish to join this protection initiative are more than welcome to apply through proper channels.

We will band against this invader and the next threat. We will protect America at all costs.
Then throughout the coming months after the initial threat. We will work together with shield in order to transfer America assets into the hands of Hammer agents and staff and then continue to support shield in their mission to protect the world as a whole while watching out for America first.

I am announcing the National Guard will be called up in each state. Announcing effectively Immediately America is under State of emergency. This will help local police and government officials make the choices they need to protect their states, business and people.

My last announcement is to the American people. Now is the time to be with your family, Your loved ones, Work for your state, and country. Now is not the time for looting and rioting and negativity.

You voted  me in office because you believed in me and you believed in change. These choices were made with full support of our current House and Senate representatives, reviewed by all high ranking military officials and approved by all.

I brought together and listened to experts in all fields and brought together one of the most divided House and senate in years to make these choices to send all of America a message.

The Camera would turn off, the crew stunned by the announcement just made. The generals and senators in the room began to clap. Norman stood up and walked towards the oval office desk, and looked out onto the rose garden. Norman would then say

"Everyone out, Expect for you Sentry"

Once the room had cleared and only him and sentry remain Norman would speak again

"Sentry my friend, I have your first assignment"

Norman had asked Robert to stand behind him, as he addressed the people about the possible alien invasion that was commencing at this very moment. This was in reference to the fleet of Kree warships surrounding the planet Earth in an intimidating manner, something that came to everyone's attention once those alien messages started appearing on all the radio stations (*Space Spying Warfare).

With the words Osborn spoke to the camera, referencing the teleprompter on the camera every once in a while, Reynolds would do his best to maintain a stoic composure. He was the Sentry after all, not the meek Robert. Confidence exuded through him at every moment while he was the hero. So why was he nervous? Was it because this monument around was as fragile was cardboard? Was it because every single human being standing in this room and the rest of the building could easily be crushed by any simple mistake the "hero" made? To him, they were practically like newborn babies strewn about the floor. One wrong step, and they could be crushed without careful consideration. The thought terrified him, but it made him careful.

Better than thinking their ants am I write. Oooh, how I enjoy hearing a baby wail. Which I don't hear often, since I just remember rubble falling and crushing everyone to death.

Shut up. Reynolds screamed out in his head, all to drown out the voice of the Void.

He didn't need to hear that fiend's words any longer. Norman helped him in that cave. The president went out of his way to come back into the light, and back into the arms of his wife. It was his turn to return the favor.

And so, when Norman finished his speech and asked for everyone to leave except for Sentry, it wouldn't be long until Sentry asked for his orders.

Waiting a bit till everyone had left the room, Sentry would ask "What do you need of me Mr. Pres- I mean Norman?"

Norman turned around with a big smile and laughed.

"Robert yes, I'm always Norman when we are alone. I wouldn't want titles or anything to come between us. I am so glad you made it.

Norman would walk out from behind the desk and approach Robert hand outstretched for a handshake.

"Thank you for your work in all this. I also thank you for the work you haven't done yet which bring me to my point"

Norman knew Robert would return the handshake. He would return to his desk and lean against it with his arms crossed and begin to say.

"I have a job for you, Robert. One I believe you are capable of. I need you to make an example of this invading force for us. Bring every last one of there ships down. Start with any and all ships above or in striking distance of America. I want you to bring me one example of the invader if you can as well. Id appreciate knowing what just tried to attack us. Do you think this will be a problem for you?"

"I would have the press-ready in the morning or in the afternoon if more time was needed in which we will announce to the world what their great defender has done."

"I only want you to take this job if your 100 percent up for it, What do you say freind?"

Norman would provide the orders to essentially end the Kree threat that is currently surrounding the planet at this very moment. Reynolds would listen intently, making sure to not miss a word the man said. He felt this was in repayment to the man who helped Robert out of that cave. He owed him this much he believed.

Osborn essentially wanted Robert to showcase all of his abilities to remove the more advanced alien army looming threateningly above him. The Sentry didn't see any nefarious schemes or plans coming from the man's mouth. Nothing that would indicate that it was the vile Green Goblin speaking to him. Granted, he had never dealt with the Green Goblin in person, but he heard all the rumors.

Perhaps it was true that Norman overcame his evil. If that was the case, that just provided more justification for Robert to stand by Osborn's side. For only he knew how to help Robert overcome the Void. His eternal nemesis that has plagued his mind for decades.

And so, Robert had no choice but to be 100% ready. He needed to overcome his fears of the darkness, his fear of the outside, the fear of the coldness of space. He needed to overcome these fears, if he ever wants the chance to control or possibly get rid of the Void.

"Sir, Norman, there is no one else out there in space with that fleet, is there?"

He'd pause a bit, before continuing on with his own fears.

"I...I am a bit afraid of the Other, of the Void. What if he takes control when I go out there?"

The Sentry's form would slightly dissipate, slowly returning to the civilian attire of Robert Reynolds. His musculature would shrink and grow rapidly, as if his body was changing size at random intervals. It would be up to Norman to assuage his fears.

Norman would not only hear the hesitation in sentry but see its physical manifestation. Norman would put a hand on the shoulder of Robert. He knew this was a key moment and would make sure Robert was as prepared for it as possible.

"The void will not take you as long as I have breath" Norman would say in a serious tone making eye contact with Robert

"We are great men you and I. We choose to defy the voices in our heads, We actively work against them every single day because they have proven themselves nothing but evil and full of falsehood. We must continue this fight and so we shall together." Norman would speak from experiences here. He had chosen to ignore the green goblin for several years now. His goals now are his own. The fiend only appears in mirrors and dreams but Norman was in control he knew that.

"Now Robert while I love your company and look forward to our next dinner with your wife at camp David, I need Sentry in order to protect not only America but the world." Norman would turn around and walk to his desk and continue

"On your note about is there anyone up there. I will send a message to shield and the avengers now. You should be allowed full clearance to work as you need to."

Norman would press a button on his intercom and say "Please send a priority message to all shield channels and avengers, X-men and any and all groups of power  and nations on this world. The invasion is being taken care of. Enter the fray of battle at own risk."

Norman would look up at Robert from the desk and smile a kind smile before continuing

"Now, Robert, Sentry are you ready for this task?"

Robert would listen intently to Norman's words, paying attention to every single thing the man was saying. It was like with what he said back in the cave. Reynolds honestly felt a bit ashamed having Norman reiterate words of encouragement to once again push him to be the Sentry once more. Yet the man didn't hesitate to aid Robert in whatever psychological issues he was dealing with.

It was time for him to show gratitude. Norman deals with his own demons everyday. Robert needed to do the same. Not just because it was the right thing to do, but because the world depended on it. Aliens were invading and Robert was the only one who could possibly stop them. Norman was right. He didn't need Robert. He needed the Sentry.

And so, Robert Reynolds, in a flash of brilliant light, would transform into the Invincible Sentry, ready to serve in whatever way he could.

"Yes sir, I am!"

With a quick salute, the Sentry would start to fly out towards the window, making sure to carefully open it, rather than shattering it in a million pieces by flowing through it blinding speeds.

"Don't worry Norman. I assure you that this invasion will be over in a jiffy. Then we could have that dinner you mentioned."

With this newfound confidence in tact, Sentry would fly out towards the sky, ready to take on whatever the Kree had in store.
