Sitting back in his red Chevrolet with his hand on the wheel and taking in the beautiful scenery while being up in the skies of three thousand feet, Phil Coulson never knew his life would lead to this. Being an agent of SHIELD had a lot of perks in it that he took advantage of since day one. Learning the ropes from Nick Fury was a blessing in disguise when he was approached by the legend back then during Phil’s college days. Since then, life for Phil has been great but at the same time chaotic with all the superheroes and villains of the world but he doesn’t have any regrets. It’s all about the mission which is protecting the world from the bad guys and Phil would do anything to make sure Earth doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.
Approaching the Hellicarrier, Phil made sure to safely land L.O.L.A on the platform, which he did after pressing a couple of buttons. Once that’s done and finished, Phil parked it in the right spot he always parks it, then gets out with two cups of coffee in box from Starbucks that the man ordered this morning before picking them up. Shutting the door behind him, out of the corner of his eye Phil noticed an agent from SHIELD staring at the vehicle before he cleared his throat. “Don’t touch LOLA”. He simply said in a warning tone causing the agent to stand back and go on his merry way before Phil goes inside for work. Phil never liked any one especially newbies at SHIELD staring or trying to touch the car he’s had since Phil and his dad worked on this years ago.

Bobbi was at work as usual, though everything she had been working on was in the research stage, which was fine but it made her restless. She much preferred being out in the field, fighting or doing spy stuff, though she understood that sometimes research was important, still she looked around and saw most people either working on their own stuff or talking with each other. I need a coffee she thought to herself, getting up and stretching before ambling over to the coffee station.
Pouring herself a cup of caffeine, she started walking around to stretch her legs and that's when she saw Coulson, a fellow agent. Picking up the pace a bit, she glanced out of the window, amazed in spite of herself that several people were able to work in what was essentially a really big plane, before she started walking, quickly crossing paths with Coulson. "Hey, how's it going?" she asked, smiling at the sight of two Starbucks cups. "What, office coffee not hot enough?" she jokingly questioned, having been caught drinking Starbucks coffee in the past.

Ava had been secondered again to one of the Hellicarriers. She was just there for experience rather than getting into trouble. Well, that was the theory. Currently she was on an off shift which allowed her time to work on her red Harley Davidson. It was already a beast of a machine with several advanced technologies already attached but she was always on the lookout for other technology to integrate into it. This time she was knelt on the floor swapping out a sensor which she kept tripping with her powers. Annoying at the best of times, infuriating at the worst. At least the sensor she was putting in was now protected from her 'accidents' thanks to the techies who had also fixed her suit. As an off shift she was also dressed in her jeans, t-shirt and black beanie. Yeah, she knew childish but it kept her warm especially with the doors being open. She looked up at she hear Phil shout at another agent and it made her smile. She still hadn't thought of a name for her bike but then she had only just started driving it... in some areas of the world. It was crazy to think she was underage in some areas and qualified enough in others. Something her studies had taught her. So of course she had taken liberty of enjoying the open roads when she could. The smell of coffee made her look up again as she noticed Bobbi. In hind sight Bobbi should have been her Senior Officer with the amount of time she had spent with her. Some of that time was supposed to have been leisure others was official. It definitely was better than other officers she had been under. For now though, she ducked back down to finish installing the new sensor. Hopefully this one wouldn't trip the whole bike like the last one did... Her own fault to be fair.

“Good morning Bobbi”. Phil nodded his head and greeted his fellow co-worker of SHIELD who’s one the best agents the agency has to offer. Her strength, speed, and the way she was able to make crap into chicken salad so to speak showed how much someone like Bobbi Morse can make it work. “Everything is good so far, I guess. Just showed up to work, how about you?”. Phil chuckled when Bobbi joked about the coffee they have here in SHIELD as he shrugged his shoulders. “Eh, nothing wrong with switching things up. The coffee here doesn’t stink but at least this time I have something different”. As an agent, Phil had no problem sacrificing the long hours to make sure the world was safe. SHIELD was his family, the family he wished he had as a child growing up despite being the only child of his parents.
“So how are things here before I arrived? At least all hell hasn’t broken loose from the looks of things, but I don’t think anyone would be that stupid to attack us unless you’re some multi galaxy army”. Strange things have happened before while he’s been in SHIELD, despite encountering Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the X-Men, etc. along with villains who would love nothing but to cause trouble. Being in the line of fire so to speak while the world went to hell showed that a guy like Coulson can’t handle everything by himself. That’s why he’s a part of SHIELD who has allies of their own in the heroes of this world who have won common goal, save earth.

Bobbi smiled as Phil explained before asking how she was and she took a sip of her coffee before answering. "Great, feeling a bit restless though" she admitted, "want to kick some butt somewhere but things have been quiet." She laughed as Phil mentioned having something different and nodded, saying "I had some the other day on my day off, I like the holiday flavors." She smiled as Ava ducked down, hard at work on her motorbike, but brought her attention back to Phil as he asked what had been happening.
"Mainly research and keeping track of different people, Ava's working on her machine" she explained, giving a wave to Ava in case she looked up. "Do you know if there's any big assignments coming up?" she asked, wondering if he would tell her if there was, at least not in public. While she mainly trusted everyone here, there was still a small chance of someone spying for the enemy. She doubted that there was, but a part of her training always kept her watching, waiting for the other shoe to drop. When Phil mentioned the odds of someone attacking them, she winced a bit but nodded. "Hopefully not, but at least some of our best agents are on here" she admitted, taking another sip of coffee.

Ava finished attaching the sensor and checked to see if it was working. Happily she stood up rubbing her hands on a cloth. She waved back to Bobbi mounted her bike to then turn it on with a healthy roar only a Harley could make. Then grinned at the display as it read all systems were good then looked horrified at the notification. It had only taken less than an hour to do that one task. She then headed over to Bobbi
"Hi Agent Morse, Agent Coulson, sir."
She took in the smell of Starbucks and it made her wonder when she would get the chance to get a decent coffee again. Since when did she become a coffee snob? She hadn't really minded but there were a few coffee shops that she used to like.
"It's a shame we can't get coffee from Grind the NYC, the definitely do the best."

“Big assignments? As far as I know, nothing unfortunate which is unfortunate. It’s no good walking around or sitting in your office doing paperwork…man I still hate paperwork to this day”. Phil was someone who always enjoyed moving around the Helli carrier or going out on assignments in different places. But at the same time, he always learned to appreciate his time in SHIELD and be patient when the good things come. The first day he joined SHIELD, Phil was eager to learn everything on day one after he passed the exams/qualifications with flying colors. But there were days when it was boring, the only difference is on those boring days, it came a lot of responsibility with paperwork.
“Hello there, good morning”. Coulson said and greeted to Ava who was one of SHIELD’s up and coming agents. Sometimes it was hard for Phil Coulson to get to know some of the newest agents who work their way up. Almost everyday the agents move around the Helli carrier as they have their own assignments including other duties, so Phil could sometimes forget. But from what he’s heard and seen from Ava, she’s one of the hardest working agents in the field. “Sometimes you must manage what’s in front of you as the old saying goes. This job will take a toll on you and you’ll need lots of coffee to keep you up for the day and into the night”

Bobbi nodded as Phil answered her question, sad but understanding. She chuckled as he mentioned hating paperwork and nodded again, saying "Yeah, I get why we have to do it, but I would so much rather be out in the field! Still, it helps that most of it is on back up." She flinched just a bit as Ava revved her cycle, but turned and gave her a thumbs up. She then turned back to Coulson and admitted "That's the other thing I have to get used to, loud noises suddenly. First time I heard something like a flying car, I thought we were being attacked" she joked, quickly adding "Most of the time it's super quiet, at least the helicarrier is."
When Ava walked over, Bobbi turned to greet her. "Hey Ava! Nice bike" she said, glancing over at it before listening to her talk about a certain coffee shop. "Maybe we can make a trip there together soon, I could use some biscotti and hazelnut syrup" she admitted, wondering if they could borrow one of the smaller planes to go on a coffee run. Then Phil mentioned this job taking a toll and coffee being needed to get through it. "Yeah, I love this job, don't get me wrong. Wouldn't do anything else, but coffee is essential! Especially when you have to work late or do a stake-out" she said, smiling at both of them. "Still, I think we have a really great team!"

Ava, as normal listened. Taking the toll on people was one way to describe Ava. She was a widow, her best friend was in a comma which she knew deep down was induced by them for good reasons and her dead boyfriend's best friend was as a SHIELD agent. On top, there was her Siesta, years of being stuck in SHIELD safe house and years of being abandoned. Yeah... the toll was already taken on her. Her memories were not all her own but that was different, at least. As for the need of coffee... she preferred not to rely on it but rather the decades of training and rough sleeping to keep her awake. Not to mention the night terrors she tried to keep off the SHIELD medical's radar.
On the up side was her dedication to becoming better than her Siesta despite now knowing there was other things involved... but did she really know what had been done to her as a child before she had sat in the chair? The Power which had gone though her and Natasha could have been enough to kill most why had she survived? Then there was her ghost, how was that to be explained?
She nodded to Coulson about the coffee helping. Instead she smiled to Bobbi.
"Thanks, Natasha gave it to me for my birthday. Shame I'm not legally allowed to ride it in most places."
The thought of getting off carrier cheered her up. The thought of being able to check on her aging cat would be bliss. Her face lit up.
"I'll only go if we can check in on Sasha Cat on the way. 'sides, too much coffee raises my pulse too much. My monitor won't like that."
She waved her wrist watch which hadn't even beeped once at the excitement of possibly being off ship.

“I agree, the bike looks very impressive”. Phil said when he looked it over and nodded his head, impressed at the same time. These days with an organization with SHIELD, they would do anything to help make sure that whatever equipment was used had to be taken care of carefully. Phil was lucky to have L.O.L.A. with him whenever he was on the move for an assignment or just wanted to take it for a ride in the skies to get away from anything from time to time. “Biscotti and hazel syrup? Man, why is that making me hungry right now? If the cafeteria here would only have something like that right now”
“Well, you won’t have to worry about having too much coffee Ava, there’s other beverages you could have. Thankfully I don’t drink coffee all day long whenever I don’t have to work or on break”. Phil shrugged his shoulders. “But if there’s no assignments scheduled for us today maybe we could go to the scoring range for some target practice. It’s been a while since i’ve used some target practice on some… things so to speak”

Bobbi smiled as Ava mentioned Natasha giving her the motorcycle for her birthday, replying "That's neat!" before turning back to Phil as he too complimented the bike. Then Ava requested that they stop off and see her cat, and Bobbi nodded. "I would love to see Sasha Cat again, she's so cute!" she agreed, adding "I was thinking of getting a cat, but when I'm gone, I'm gone for a while and what if something happened to me?" She didn't have any family really and if she died or something she wouldn't want an animal to be stuck inside without food or water.
She then chuckled at Phil's comment, adding "Yeah, it's food but not the best. Still, as long as it gives us strength to do our jobs it should be fine, right? Plus, just like coffee we could go get food out." She noticed Ava's monitor, she didn't know much about it other than she wore it a lot while she worked but she assumed it was a normal health monitoring device that she'd seen others use. She then paused to think about Phil's offer to go to the shooting range, it sounded fun but..."Tell you what, if Ava wants to go too, why don't we stop off to check up on Sasha Cat, then on the way back we could make a coffee and/or snack break?"

Ava blushed just a little at the comments of her bike. She knew it would still need some work doing to it but it didn't matter. It already was a fantastic bike. She smiled at the thought of biscuits and syrup in coffee... maybe later. The thought of going to the gun range really did make her feel valued. The thought of seeing her cat was also a perk.
"Sasha Cat is a stray doesn't need much hands on. As independent as they get."
Ava thought about the shooting range. Her off shift was long so she didn't need to worry about being back for anything until then.
"Shooting range then coffee? I have nothing for several hours. I could do with putting some training into practice."
She really didn't need to, her last score was high enough to pass but she wanted to get the score higher and after watching the last video of her shooting she knew what needed to be worked on. It was one of the scores that she hadn't quite beaten Nat's or Clint's records. If she was aiming for Clint's then she had a lot of work to do first.
One step at a time. Nat's was more attainable. Maybe she could try out her new bullets... if allowed!

“I don’t mind it at all. Besides, since I got here there’s nothing for me to do unless Director Hill leaves a stack of paperwork on my desk but hopefully not”. For the time that he’s known Maria Hill, the pressure she has had to deal with when it comes to SHIELD nowadays and working with Tony Stark may be too much for her. Phil was always a listening ear for her and didn’t judge Maria where most people thought she was a heartless witch and always anti-superhero. She may not be like Tony completely but at least she cared about the safety of the world.
“But anyway, I am up for whatever you guys want to do. Besides everyone else here is busy and SHIELD can focus on itself for the time being while we’re all around the place”. Maybe today will be either a good day or a busy one swamped with tons of work. There wasn’t many incidents going around the world that needed investigations to where a lot of agents could go down there and check in, which is also a plus. Doing this with Bobbi and Ava was fine for him since hasn’t seen enough of them most of the time.

Bobbi nodded at Ava's suggestion, then clapped her hands excitedly together before laughing. "Sorry, just excited" she explained, turning back to Phil. She giggled at his comment about paperwork and said "I like Maria but she does tend to go a bit heavy on the paperwork." Looking around, she asked "Should we leave a note for someone, just in case?" Phil's comment made her nervous, yeah nothing was happening right now but it seemed like chaos could erupt in the blink of an eye sometimes. Still, they would have the advantage of being on the ground and they would be armed.
She then thought about what Ava had said about her cat being a stray and how that would maybe be better, but still there was the issue of right now Bobbi lived in a high rise apartment. However she did have a landlord of sorts so she did have someone to check on a cat, if she were to get one.

Ava thought of Coulson doing nothing and it just felt wrong. She knew he never did just nothing. He had seen her through several missions with Nat and had suspicions he was still keeping an eye on her 'well being' of not crumbling with grief or talking to herself. Somehow she hoped her facade was still intact. The nightmares came and went, nothing she could do about that. The flashes of Nat in danger still hit her from time to time but at least at the moment she was able to control the 'episodes' of explosive power. Never good to witness and Director Hill always seemed to frown at her as if she was still bitter for warning them all that Nat had been blown up! Mainly due to the marks on her office walls. Oh well, they all knew that if those things happened it was for a good reason.
That didn't excuse her teenage angst which flared more often, especially with being cooped up. It wasn't like she could sneak off the helicarrier like she could when in the training grounds. That was probably the reason why she had been assigned up here while her latest group of peers were transferred onto other areas for induction. That would never happen for her. She was too much of a risk for security and other reasons.
As regards to the cat, Ava just thought there wasn't much to add apart to nod. As for Bobbi mentioning Maria by name she tried not to think of the number of times she had been told off. It wasn't her fault if the facility didn't cope well with her power or the fact the person she fought should have been fine! He was half Asgardian after all! Isn't Thor immune to her powers? Oooohhh that would be a challenging fight! It also wasn't her fault that security still hadn't figured out how she kept sneaking off base. She just adapted to their different techniques. At least she didn't sneak back in!
Through all this she concentrated on the conversation but just didn't want to add much to it.
