HAIL HYDRA
Captain America was not the Red Skull's only enemy. He represented evil, of course. The evil of democracy. The evil of freedom. The evil of equity. He was the monster that the Reich sought to destroy so that it may flourish. Then, as now, he had allies and he had Allies. As the Axis powers gathered together their greatest examples of strength, the weak, the Allies, tried to fight back. Through treacherous betrayal, they pushed back their betters, ending the war. Ending, for a few years, the quest for order. One of Captain America's more abhorrent cohorts wasn't even a man. It was the result of the depravity of a lonely fisherman. It was half deplorable man and half repugnant fish. It was also a mutant, a further degeneracy of its genes. While it was unworthy as an opponent, even when compared to a brainwashed lackey like Captain America, sometimes a dog off its leash attacked the hand that fed it. During the War, the creature had attacked Allied naval vessels. It had caused chaos before it found itself a master. History would repeat itself, and its trident would serve as a welcome distraction from a much larger stake. The Red Skull set a trap. There were many things that would draw the creature out. One of them, ironically given how polluted it itself was, was pollution to the oceans. So, just outside Chile's territorial waters, a bomb tore a hole in an oil tanker. The Last Vanguard of the Reich waited on a nearby ship, smoking a cigar. His troops took pot shots at any survivors.

And fathom that distance, the mad must reap Meet Namor sea lord, Prince of the deep Here for you to fear at any cost
Word had traveled fast within the ocean of the catastrophe that was playing out off the coast of Chile. It had reached Atlantis within a short period of time, alerting the King of Atlantis to the disaster that was taking place. If left unchecked, the damage to the ecology of the oceans could be devastated for years to come, especially off the coast of that South American country. Hundreds of species of ocean life could be killed, not to mention coral destroyed.
It did not take long for the first mutant to arrive on scene, emerging from the water and taking flight as he drew close. Had he swam into the oil, it would have hindered his ability to breathe.
As he approached, he could see the massive, gaping hole in the side of the tanker. He landed on the deck and looked around at the members of the crew. Immediately, he noticed that some of them were dead . . . but not just that, but apparently they died from what looked like bullet wounds. Those that were still lucky to be alive were obviously frightened.
Approaching one of the men, he asked with a tone of authority, "What happened here? What caused the hole in the side of the tanker and killed members of the crew?"

HAIL HYDRA
The first mutant tried to get ahold of the situation. It wouldn't be able to. Of course it wouldn't. It was a fish on dry land. It was facing the architect of the Fifth Reich. Even if the shipman was unsure of the visitor, he wasn't exactly in a position to throw away any sort of aid at a time like this. "There was an explosion first and — and then shots and—" He looked around the corner as if to check if the coast was clear. It wasn't. It really and truly wasn't. Another shot range out piercing through the air with a deafening boom. The target was not Namor. The Submariner was meant to be taken alive. That directive wouldn't save the men and women who crewed the bait. It was their purpose in luring the live prey to begin with. The question now was whether or not Namor could save the man in the middle of this warzone.

Namor listened as the sailor explained about the explosion and then the shots, but his tale was cut off as he looked around the corner, only to be faced with another shot and deafening boom. Without hesitation, the King of Atlantis looked around in order to try and find the source behind the new explosion. He still could not see who or what was responsible, but he looked to the sailor who appeared to be petrified.
"Go to the bridge, make sure the watertight doors are closed," he directed, hoping that giving the sailor something to do might help alleviate his fear somewhat. Closing the watertight doors, if they hadn't already been closed, would also prevent the ship from sinking. Also, by heading to the bridge, the sailor would thankfully be behind walls and not in the open, which hopefully would spare him from any potential harm.
He stepped out from around the corner, standing there boldly as he called out, "Face me, cowards! Only those without honor fire from a distance on the innocent." It was a challenge, but he was always a bold and tactful opponent in combat.
