Mistress Gamora? Wow. Just what kind of archaic god had they aligned themselves with this time? Gamora shook her head as he continued and promptly dismissed Thor from her attention. There was simply no need for a reply to his many excuses and even less need to encourage a god's ego by pursuing continued interaction.
Gamora turned her attention back to her team. It was a shame Drax wasn't here. His attempts at humor would have made things mildly more tolerable. Although come to think of it, Gamora was already stuck in a ship hurtling through space with three of the cockiest males in the multiverse. Did she really need another? The fierce warrior pushed herself back into her seat and away from Thor's general direction when he stood in front of her and blocked her view. What was it about gods that made them think they were so damned important that they could just stand in front of other people?
The fierce warrior sat and rolled her eyes silently while she waited. Rocket would drop his bombs. Thor would conjure storms on an alien planet. (Did they even have lightning and thunder on Skrullos? Who knew?) Quill would eventually land them. When all of that was over, then Gamora could kick ass and take names. Until then, she may as well just get comfortable and enjoy the ride - because she certainly couldn't enjoy the view.

All the good love when we're all alone, Keep it up girl! Yeah, you turn me on. -------------------- Quill groaned. He really needed to talk to Rocket about his naming conventions. "Not those, save them for planetside, Rocket. The EMPs, guy. You know, our usual pulse bombs for getting through shields?" He couldn't help but snap a little. They were coming up on the armada blockading their way into the planet and Rocket had loaded the wrong missiles in the tubes because... well, it was partially his fault. The raccoon had just explained what he named them and Peter told him to load pulse bombs but he figured the guy knew the standard by now...
"Forget it. Thor, clouds with lightning. Lots of lightning." It would work in a pinch. He hoped. He was just going to need to be a bit more creative in his approach. "And hold on to something. I figure you're looking for a reason but this is going to get bumpy. There might not be gravity out in space, be we do have it in here." Groot could catch him in a pinch, but he figured that a guy that called himself a god might not like that so much.
Flicking a few switches on the dash, he swapped the ship over to manual control and dropped their speed to something more maneuverable, preparing to thread K.I.T.T. through any openings they managed to punch through. The nice part about fighting an armada with a little ship like theirs? No one expected it and finding holes was easy. So long as they didn't go splat in the first minute, they probably would be fine.
"Five seconds till we're in their range, everyone. Hold on to something and pray to whatever god you believe in." He glanced at Thor, grinning. "Or you know, pray to you, I guess."

Rocket loaded in the wrong weapon?! Well this was quite an embarrassing moment...
"Oh for the love of... Really?! Come on!!! That weapon is called the Shield Breaker!!!!"
Rocket rolled his eyes hitting buttons at a frantic pace.
"Well why didn't ya just say that you.... Oh forget it!"
Rocket mumbled in a frustrated tone as the weapons were shifting around.
"Alright! EMP bombs are loaded! God I need to get you a menu of the weaponry I have on this ship!"
Rocket said with an annoyed tone in his voice. Quill told Thor to go out with some lightning.
"Between Thor and the weapons loaded we should be able to zap fry these Skrullos! Just let me know when I can press the red button!"
Rocket said with a shimmer in his eyes. He just loved hitting the button of his. He's kind of a little kid in that aspect.
"I am Groot..."
Translation: I'll be on stand by...
Groot said heading to the back of the ship... He figured if Thor needed pulled back in he can be ready and in position for such an occurrence.

Thor could command the mightiest of storms, of course, ones that could cover an entire continent, with bolts of lightning that would split the tops of mountains, and decimate even the sturdiest of buildings. But such storms killed indiscriminately. Anyone who was a combatant, who actively stood in their way, was fair game. But you did not always need to kill to defeat an enemy, and so Thor had toned this storm down a long way from his largest possible, and the lightning was far less fierce than he was capable of. No civilians' lives would be threatened, nor would there be too much collateral damage, though that was a much lower priority. Buildings were easy enough to shield from the brunt of at least basic lightning, even Midgardians had mastered such arts.
As the lightning crackled around the K.I.T.T. Thor looked out the window to one side, and the thuinder seemed to follow his gaze, shooting off at a steadily increasing pace until it was a good distance away from them. "Never hide in the middle of obvious cover. It is the first place anyone will look for you. That ball of thunder is obvious enough that it will hold the attention of anyone that comes looking for trouble."
At the warning from.... Sun-lord? about the impending bumpy ride, Thor heeded it, taking hold of an exposed suitable part of the bulkhead. He was not all that familiar with spaceship battles, usually being on the outside, inflicting the damage, not on the inside, receiving it. This outing would be educational, in that respect.

Gamora drummed her fingers on he leg. Thor stood in front of her effectively blocking her view out the window. Quill was being a showoff for the god of Asgard. Rocket was whining about not getting to do what he wanted yet then going to do what was actually necessary. And Groot was being the natural calm in the eye of another Guardians hurricane. Gamora glanced at him, glanced at Thor and back to the tree. "These exhibitionists are taking up too much of my air. I'm going to go prepare for battle."
The irritated woman unbuckled herself in spite of the knowledge it would be a rough entry. Considering the things the Guardians had been through on this ship alone, she felt pretty confident should could take care of herself. She maneuvered out the doorway and down the hall toward the back. There, she picked up her weaponry and added enough stuff to her inventory to probably take down the entire Skrullos army - which she wouldn't need to if Rocket's new weapon worked. Thing was Gamora knew better than to count on plan A ever working out exactly as planned. She would be plan B, maybe, but at least she was reliable.
Gamora stood and held onto something after she was through double checking that her arsenal (and herself) was prepared. She would wait at the back of the ship and be the first to exit when they landed. Thor may be a god and all, but she preferred to do this herself. Call it a habit.

All the good love when we're all alone, Keep it up girl! Yeah, you turn me on. -------------------- Quill rolled his eyes a bit. He'd asked for cover and now the thunder jockey was giving him obvious pointers on how to use it. He wasn't going to go saying that outloud, though. It was honestly pretty cool to have Thor, the Norse God of Thunder on his ship, and they could use his help. "Okay, Rocket, big red button time!" he called out as he engaged a few of the buttons himself, firing a hail of the ships lasers towards the armada. He wasn't worried about hitting anything in particular. Just getting them to focus on where he was for a moment and setting up Rocket's shot before he...
Pushing down and over on the stick sent K.I.T.T. rolling to the side, sending the into a bank of clouds only for them to climb up. They had their scanners so Peter wasn't too worried about being able to see. The lightening was playing a bit of havoc with them, but with the large shields of the Skrulls out there, any holes would show up big and obvious even through the static from Thor's storm.

The Skrulls were more than aware of the intrusion into their territory, though they weren't aware of the reason. Still, when the command was given, several soldiers raced to their ships, powering up and blasting off, heading to meet the intruders. The giant bug type ships raced through space, coming up quickly on K.I.T.T. and they fired the lasers as a warning shot, but then they noticed thunder in space. Conferring quickly, three ships formed a blockade of sorts, trying to prevent the incoming ship from getting any further, because if they managed to find out that they had prisoners on the planet, then all their hard work would be for naught.
The middle ship, which was bigger than the others, sent out a request for communication to K.I.T.T., wanting to know why they were being attacked, but if their ships were to bed scanned, anyone could see their weapons were powered up and ready to defend themselves. "Hold for now" one of the pilots said, "till we know their motive. If they try to board us, blow them away!"

Rocket smiled from ear to ear when Quill gave him the go ahead.
"This is always my favorite part!"
He said as he hit the button when the targets were in site.
"Heads up Quill looks like we got a couple of bogies in coming!"
Rocket said before he looked at the ships lining up forming a barricade. One of the ships being larger...
"That's a pretty mean looking ship there Quill... Probably has a force field of some sort..."
He said looking it over on his scanner.
"Might need to break out a heavier weapon on that one..."
He said pondering a bit seeing the warning shot they shot out.
"Well other than that they aren't really attacking us! What's the game plan here?"
Rocket asked before Groot walked over.
"I am Groot?"
Translation: Could she possibly be held on one of the ships?
Rocket nodded his head.
"He brings up a good point Quill..."

It had quickly become apparent that the Skrull's sensors were capable of picking them up at least partially through the lightning storm. It was so hard keeping track of which alien species had technology that could deal with such things, and which could not. Right now though, it seemed they were significantly outnumbered, and outgunned. As things were, anyway. It wouldn't be the first time he'd gone hand to hand with a spaceship, for a start. But Groot raised a good point. They couldn't risk killing the very person they had come to save.
"Whilst it seems unlikely she would be on any of the smaller craft, I would not want to take such a risk. But with all this moving around, I would struggle to sense any more human souls nearby, let alone pinpoint them. How about we knock them out of the sky, and then board their big ship, and search it while it falls to the planet below?"
Of course, by 'we', he meant 'I'. There were many ways he could down a spaceship without destroying it, though in truth, all of them perhaps carried a little more risk than he would have liked. Spaceships were not really his area of expertise, all he could do was to keep directing his lightning to lash out at them fairly indiscriminately, with enough force to threaten the smaller ones, and at least batter the shields of the larger ones.
"Any suggestions for how we proceed?"

Gamora really should have known that the Skrulls would have noticed their entry. After all, neither Quill nor Rocket was known for their subtlety and an active thunderstorm being generated randomly out of nowhere in a place that Gamora wasn't even sure they were supposed to exist was likely to garner a lot of attention, too. It was crazy to her that the guys all thought Thor's presence with them was going to be helpful. In her opinion, when you throw in someone who sees themselves as a god then you were going to become attention whores. No god in the multiverse that she'd ever met knew what it meant to hide under the radar. (Except for Thor's brother, perhaps, but then he was adopted and she doubted that he counted.)
As soon as it came over the comms that they were detected, Gamora made her way to the plasma cannons. She hadn't been committed to remaining in the back of the ship anyway. Gamora always preferred to be in the middle of the action. She just didn't prefer to be in the cockpit when there were too many egos to see out the windshield! Once at the cannons, Gamora strapped herself into the seat and took aim at the ships beginning to barricade their entry. She heard Rocket ask about a plan and knew he was already looking at their anti-ship missiles but contemplating something else. Gamora chose to hold her fire until Star-Lord provided some direction, especially if they were worried the human was on one of those ships - which in her professional opinion Mockingbird wouldn't be. Of course, no one was going to ask her, though, and Gamora was content to follow Quill's lead this time.
"I'm at the cannons. Just tell me when to start firing."

All the good love when we're all alone, Keep it up girl! Yeah, you turn me on. -------------------- Could Mockingbird be on one of the ships? Possible. Sure. Peter frowned as he tapped at the top of the stick and pondered the possibility. They'd had the woman for a few years, probably since before her supposed death on Earth. So she wouldn't be in transport. A ship would be infinitely easier to break in and out of than a planet. That's just math. Plus, if she was a prisoner here, it was probably to make a duplicate of, meaning high priority. Having someone make a trip all the way up to a ship would be a hassle. Real nail in the coffin of that idea? They'd be sitting ducks trying to search the ships. Planet-side they had a chance of playing cat and mouse where their small numbers would be a benefit against the larger forces in the Skrull's palace prison where he was pretty sure she would be.
Hitting the comm button to receive the incoming transmission from the skrull ship, Quill grabbed the radio with a grin. "Thank you for choosing space express. We have a delivery for Emperor Dorrek ah... some number or other. Sorry, spilled some Rigellian ale on the invoice. Looks like we have some Skrull Cow patties for his highness? Don't worry though, just lower the shield, we know the way." He didn't wait for a response, setting the mic down and grinning. "Okay everyone, sticking with the original plan. We're punching a hole through! Give it all you've got!"
For his part, he tapped the device just behind his ear that put his game face on. (His helmet. It's his helmet.) Then he started firing. The laser cannons wouldn't do much but lead the bigger ships to their position. Which made it all the easier to evade when he needed to.

The Skrull ships didn't have long to wait before lasers started firing at them, so they returned fire, heading to meet them so they couldn't get too close, if their intention was in fact to land on Skrullos. "Flank them, don't let them get close" the main, bigger ship commanded just as one of the smaller ships got hit in the wing. The Skrulls raced around, trying to defuse the damage caused, while the commander of the big ship hit their big button, causing a crisscrossing laser to shoot out toward the invading ship. "I need backup" he called out to any incoming ships as he paused to listen to the message.
Frowning, he said "You humans are unwelcome here. We did not order anything, this is your last chance to turn around and go back to wherever you came from." As he was talking, he powered up more weapons before saying "Again, leave now or be blasted out of the sky!" He then sent a warning shot, not intending to hit them but make them hopefully realize he was serious, plus this gave the other ships a chance to fly alongside his bigger one.

Rocket smiled when Quill basically gave them the go ahead.
"Quill don't tell me to give it all I got because you know how much weaponry I got!"
Rocket said with a smile hitting buttons on his console he knew that they were going to need something bigger to budge the larger ship in the group.
"Ship Buster missiles armed and ready!"
He said as the weapons swiftly changed. He aimed for the largest ship.
"TIME FOR MURDER TIME!!!!!!!"
Rocket yelled as he sent shot after shot after shot at the big ship. He was hoping it was enough to at least blast through the force fields...
"Trust me they can threaten us all they want... I got enough weaponry to turn that planet into a junkyard!"
Rocket said with the usual confidence he had. Between Rocket firing, Quill's masterful piloting, Gamora handling the turret, and of course Thor with all his epic godliness the ships will surely be turned into Swiss cheese with how many holes they will have.

It seemed that the "eccentric" Planet-King was not exactly up to the standards of Loki, or even Tony Stark when it came to fast talking his way out of a situation. But at least he knew it, based on his not waiting for a response before giving the order to his crew to open fire. Thor did the same, the lightning storm outside not just intensifying, but also becoming a lot more focused on the enemy, rather than largely random, but the large ball of lightning he had set up earlier as a diversion suddenly began moving, heading straight for the largest ship.
"This should take down all but the strongest shields! Just don't get too close. Stark tells me it is called... uh... Eeh Emm Pea."
As it flew ever closer to its target, a great many more lightning bolts struck the smaller vessels, plus they started chipping away at the mothership's defences. Maybe it wasn't a lot of damage the smaller bolts were doing, but every little bit helped.
That was when he had another idea. Out here, on the edge of space, it was possible he could reuse an old trick that had served well in the past on other vessels in space. But it depended on whether the K.I.T.T. was equipped for flying in atmospheric bad weather or not. There was only one way to find out, sadly, and so he asked a further question. "Star... uh.... whatever it was. Does this vessel have... I think they are called... windshield wipers?"

Gamora heard everything from Rocket's banter to Quill's attempt to talk his way through the barricade with the Skrulls. Everyone, except perhaps Thor, knew talking his way in was never part of the plan. Talking was probably Starlord's greatest attribute, but it was definitely not his best talent. Gamora largely paid no mind to anything else that was said beyond the signal to fire until the Skrull insinuated that the ship was littered only with humans. Then she became mildly offended and began focusing her fire more on the larger of the ships - which she assumed held the commander of their forces.
Thor arranged his lightning to become the greatest of distractions. It was apparently also producing small electromagnetic pulses that were disabling the shields of the smaller vessels. Gamorra took some potshots at them and discovered their shields were indeed affected. She centered her efforts on the many small ships then that came to the aid of the larger one. Rocket would definitely handle the big ship. She would just enjoy the challenge of the rapid gunplay with the rest.
