Mortal fools! I am the Master of the Subconscious, the Midnight Leviathan... proof positive that the most precious of dreams too often fall prey to…Nightmare! ----------------------------------------- Nightmare would be sitting upon his throne contemplating his next move in the War for Hell, he grew stronger by the day as his demons continued to wreak havoc on the world. It was at that moment when he thought of new ways to get at Dr.Strange, he had every intention to rip away at the mess of a mind belonging to Natasha. It was at that moment as he held a clear orb in his hand showing the room that he realized another victim of his was there, Ava the friend of the All Powerful Dark Angel laid on the sofa watching a movie with Natasha. “ What a glorious day for me… Behold two Widows but only one has actually gone through the Red Room... What fun would it be to make it Two!” the Leviathan would say to his demon allies from the Mephisto realm. Ava had unfortunately found herself trapped in an everlasting battle against a New enemy, unlike before Shevaun would not be here to protect her. Natasha was merely a casualty as well of war having been an avenger made her a friend of Strange in his eyes. The Fear Lord would start his teasing while the pair was still awoken, casting two shadows into the room they would stand behind the pair leaning forward. Looking at them falling asleep they would walk down the hall before flicking the lights on, he was careful not to make too much ruckus. He needed them sleep soon but he always had time for fun, he was a Fear Lord, after all, it was almost destined for him. Hoping that it would distract Natasha he would turn his attention to Ava using his control over emotions he would speed up her sleepiness, it was easier since she was already sleepy not taking too much of his energy. He knew he had limited energy over things on earth or while a person was awoke so he needed to play his cards correctly, as she would finally go to sleep he would cause her to appear in front of him in a pitch black area only his red eyes could be seen way up. Nightmare would appear this time looking much different than before, standing at almost 12 ft tall she would look up to see a long Spear forming out of one hand and a sword out the other. “ Hello, Ava... Do you remember me?” He would ask before bending down wrapping his long body around her, he would look her face to face smiling. “ I’ve missed you so much… It looks like you will get to play a little game with me” He would say before disappearing transforming the reality into the Red Room Facility, he would reappear as a Russian woman looking at her. " How can you be a Red Widow and not go through the Widow Program? Oh yes! TONIGHT you will once again entertain me with your fears but this time it will be without the Dark Angel, just you and Natasha” He would say before waiting for her to reply.

Ava had an odd sense of entertainment for a teenager, but Natasha didn't mind. When the movie began and the stellar actors, Ben Kingsley and Michael Caine, appeared on the screen, the elder Widow relaxed. It was an older movie by adolescent standards, but a newer one by her own since Natasha had been born in the twenties. She meandered her way to the sofa in the comfortable living space of Tony's underground bunker, carrying her drink along with her. "Interesting choice," she said settling into the furniture.
As full as she was, Natasha was not nearly as tired as Ava appeared to be. The elder Widow determined this was likely due to her age and the growth her body continued to do best while asleep. So Nat watched, content in the knowledge Ava was here, safe, and relaxing into her vacation. It was truly difficult at times to be away form the girl for too long knowing she was the one ultimately responsible for her. Sure, Natasha also saw her as more than her responsibility, and it was the part that "adopted" the girl as family that kept her more alert for dangers. She would protect Ava in a way she did not protect Alexei, and it would happen largely because Nat knew too well in hindsight that making herself forget about a sibling did little to to keep them safe. No, she would be more diligent with Ava, more involved.
To that end, Natasha remained awake long into the movie, thinking about the days events. She yawned as she was considering the use of Ava's electricity, but then she saw the lights turn on in the hallway. Nat glanced at Ava. The girl was sound asleep. Natasha pushed herself quietly off the sofa and moved in that direction. She whispered to the AI. "Jarvis, why did the lights come on?"
"I am unsure, Natasha. My sensors indicate no movement or heat signatures in the area except yours and Miss Orlova's."
Natasha furrowed her brow. "Turn them off," she said, "and keep them turned off, please. I'm trying to watch a movie."
"Of course, Natasha." The lights flickered off and Nat returned to the sofa. Her mind had been on Ava but now it was more alert to her surroundings. She wasn't fearful, but it definitely made her less tired for the time being.

Unlike last time Ava felt weird... wasn't ready for it. She had nightmares and sometimes this creep would end up in her dream but this time it was more real. Ava looked at the red eyes then looked all around her to try and get her barings of the situation but before she could figure it out she heard the voice and it sent shivers down her spine. Turning to look at the eyes and then the body she looked up taking in the glowing form.
In her dreams/reality Ava nodded to the man in front of her.
"Yes, I remember you. I can definitely say that I have not missed you. Don't tell me another movie? Make sense considering I was just watching one."
Then his words hit her... Well two individual words. She had memories from Natasha and so knew what was about to happen. The colour drained from her face.
"I won't play your games."
On the sofa Ava groaned, her watch vibrated indicating a raised pulse and then beeped twice to indicate power running down to her fingers. There had been no record of her having had a power surge whilst asleep.

Mortal fools! I am the Master of the Subconscious, the Midnight Leviathan... proof positive that the most precious of dreams too often fall prey to…Nightmare! ----------------------------------------- “ Tell me Ava where is your God? Who do you pray to when all else fails? Because I can assure you that no god can save you from this… Your little Angel isn't here to stop me so the game you shall play.” He said letting off a grin before he ordered the Guards to take her away to her room, he would follow behind them before he stopped pulling out his clear orb watching Natasha he noticed Ava bracelet going off that would be a problem. He once again took control of her Emotions this time with much greater control calming her down, it would hopefully be enough to bring her into a state to calm the bracelet. " Do not fear child… this is what you wanted to be a Black Widow, is it not why you are named Red Widow” he would say as they would walk her into her room which she shared with several other young ladies. He would slam the door before returning his attention to Natasha, she was alert which for the most part wasn't good. He would need to get creative, Nightmare would cause the room to get darker, allow her to be more relaxed, he would then start to meddle with her emotions calming her down so that she would relax more. He would need her here to send them both back through the Red Room, he knew Natasha had fears it was all about pulling them out of the darkness. Natasha was no different than himself; she was a cold blooded killer, he knew who the real her was what she was essentially bred for. He wanted the killer to come out in her he wanted Ava to fear Natasha, it was a perfect plan in his wicked mind. Nightmare would soon return to the room with 3 treys for six girls, “ three of you will starve this afternoon who shall it be” he would say smiling before closing the door. One of the girls would look up to Ava before looking at the trey. “ I don't want to have to hurt you girl, step aside”

Ava tried to fight the guards off of her but as the calmness engulfed her she calmed down and stopped struggling. Walking contentedly in the direction she was being led in. Once in the room she looked at the girls around her. She didn't recognise any of them but she did notice they were all roughly her age. She frowned at the girl who challenged her for the food.
"You idiot, none of need to starve. We can share. If you want you can have the desert."
She was used to going hungry, that was what life was for a runaway. She turned to the trays trying to take a piece of bread. Her hand half way to the food she paused and stepped back.
"No, this isn't food. I'm not hungry. I've just eaten pizza."
She turned away from the food.
"Starving for an evening is fine. I've done it before. Make sure it isn't poisoned though!" --------------
Back in the room with Natasha, Ava rolled a little becoming calmer. Her watched stopped beeping as her pulse and power downgraded. Her body relaxed fully. The last to go was her frown. She shifted on the sofa to get more comfortable even if it was to lean onto Nat.

Mortal fools! I am the Master of the Subconscious, the Midnight Leviathan... proof positive that the most precious of dreams too often fall prey to…Nightmare! ----------------------------------------- Unfortunately Ava would be wrong if she thought the Pizza would be enough, this was a very real realm as far as Ava should be concerned. She would eventually learn the hard way which was fine with Nightmare, the more fear she gives off the more powerful he can become. The girl would look at her as she decided to not eat at all, “ Are you crazy girl? You must be new to the Red Room… you need to eat before training or else you may throw up from being hit in the gut” the young girl would say as she broke a piece of bread and added a little cheese. “ Here eat… my name is Nikolayevna but you can call me Niko for short” she would say before examining Ava. “ You don't look Russian to me… Where are you from?” she would ask curiously. What Ava didn't know was while Nightmare may have created the reality the people in it acted in their own accords, that was unless they were being controlled directly by Leviathan himself. “ I see… Hmm well here they teach us how to be like the famous Natasha Romanoff, I always wished to be like her… To go off to be an Avenger maybe” she would go on to say before she would hear the door opening. “ Turn the trays in ladies and get ready for Ballerina, you have 3 minutes” before she would throw an outfit to Ava.

Ava took the bread and cheese. She nodded to Niko trying to figure out things. It was starting to blur around the edges of her memory of what was reality or not.
"I'm Ava and I'm Ukrainian but with Russian in my blood. I came from America to be here."
She started to eat her food, the edges of reality blurring even more. She scoffed at the idea of being as famous as Natasha and her old scorn for her sister came back to the fore of her mind. That scorn came into her voice.
"I don't want to be like her I want to be better. She is an oath breaker. I met her a couple of times and she isn't as big a hype as you think she is."
When the clothes were thrown at her she caught them and got changed. She had no qualms of getting unchanged amid the others. It was all part of the training wasn't it?... .... ... She paused frowning, there was something wrong. She looked across the others trying to figure it all out. Why was there a boy stood on one side trying to say something to her? She couldn't hear him but she knew he was trying to talk to her. She was ready within two minutes. Her short hair was too short to tie up but that was how she liked it.
In the room Ava frowned but it didn't last long as she shifted to get further comfier before letting out a gentle sigh.

Mortal fools! I am the Master of the Subconscious, the Midnight Leviathan... proof positive that the most precious of dreams too often fall prey to…Nightmare! ----------------------------------------- Niko changed listening to Ava as she spoke about Black Widow, it wasn't what she was expecting that's, to say the least. “ I… I Don't understand... I read she was an avenger and did things to save the world, yet you tell me she breaks oath and I believe it. I’m not sure why exactly I believe it but considering she came from here, it's almost expecting out if her I suppose” the girl had started to warm up to Ava. Partially because she wasn't scared of her but mostly because Ava showed a side you often don't see in here, compassion and understanding she was willing to break bread with all instead of hogging. Niko would keep these things in her head as she continued to observe Ava, ” Well let’s get to the room before we get screamed at” Niko would say cracking a Smile. As they entered the dancehall Niko would get into formation alongside Ava, the teacher would pay close attention to Ava as she stood there. “ Stand up straight! Fix your posture girl!” she would say before hitting Ava with a stick. “ What am I training Animals!!” she would carry on saying before walking away playing the music. The girls would take off in sync with each other spinning to the right before leaping high landing on their toes, they would spin back around and leap forward again when Niko fell. This would infuriate the teacher as she walked over slapping Niko as she attempted to stand up, knocking her back down, she would then look at the new girl ” Is there a problem?” she would ask, looking her in her face. Meanwhile, Nightmare would multitask as he was watching the girls and finally getting inside Natasha's head, he would proceed to put happy thoughts in her to further ease her mind. “ Just a little more time” he would say to himself.

When the woman snapped at Ava she took it. Her posture was not that bad considering she had spent recently working from books to pass language course. When the stick landed on her the only thing that showed her pain or shock was twitches from her eyes. Her power (if it worked) tried to spark on her hands. Ava danced, she wasn't as skilled as the others but she was still a decent dancer. It was odd because she was sure she didn't know the moves to that dance. Yet, the moves she was good at. The power and control over her muscles she had worked on over the past months was paying off. When Niko fell she kept quiet and kept a stoic face. After Niko tried to stand and got pushed back down Ava had had enough. This was all wrong. Something about it wasn't supposed to happen. Moving forward she spoke in Russian. "Da! zdes' chto-to ne tak!"
Translation "Yes, there is something wrong." She moved to the side of the instructor and reached a hand out to Niko. If the instructor tried to hit her or knock her down she was ready to move out of the way whilst still helping Niko. She knew how dangerous this was but it was what she was going to do.

Mortal fools! I am the Master of the Subconscious, the Midnight Leviathan... proof positive that the most precious of dreams too often fall prey to…Nightmare! ----------------------------------------- The instructor looked at her squinting her eyes as she attempted to protect her newfound friend, Niko looked at the women before grabbing ava hand standing back up. It was unusual for her to have someone even think twice about helping her, yet Ava was prepared to risk a lot to help someone in need. " You aren't like the rest of us, Ava... Thank you" Niko would say as she got back into formation, the group would carry on with the dancing as the lady kept a close eye on ava. Nightmare dimension was full of beings that often did not side with Nightmare, the one known as Niko is a living female as well as the rest of the girls in here. They came from the Kingdom of Coma in the realm over from him, he had been at fierce war with the Aboriginal Gods and others over territory and power. Niko was captured as a child and forced to abide by Nightmare's rules unwillingly, she was a demon sure but she was not one that meant to cause harm. As time progressed Ava would soon start to piece things together and come to the realization that while the place may be a new reality, the beings in it were very real and were trapped just like herself. It was at this time that Nightmare finally had Black widow were he needed her to be, he would capture her sleeping Astral form bringing it to the red room. He would stand in front of her his eyes glowing green in the darkness of the room, she could see nothing but she could hear Ava nearby. " Good evening Natasha, or should I call you the Traitor" he would say before he replayed what Ava said about Natasha. " Worthless... The Black Widow Russia spy for America. You lack emotions because you cannot be a mother, a traitor to the Avengers, and Shield time and time again yet mortals forgive you. There is no forgiveness Natasha... time for you to be who you truly are." He would open the door throwing her into the Bellarine Hall with Ava and the rest, " Have fun whore" he would say before disappearing. " Oh Great... everyone this is Natasha our prize example!" the lady would say smiling looking at Ava and Niko

~+--------------~+--------------+~--------------+~
The movie was not bad, but Natasha felt herself dip into the relaxing trance of a food coma when nothing else in the house went off course. The lights going on unexpectedly in the hall had kept her alert for some time after Ava had fallen asleep on her shoulder. Now, almost two hours later and falling into her carb crash, Natasha felt her eyes drooping. She spoke briefly to Jarvis, telling the AI to turn off the television and dim the lights. She did not need to instruct the computer on its programming should any intruders enter the safe house. Nat knew well she would quickly be awakened. And so, she pulled a blanket from the back of the sofa and draped it over both herself and Ava. She lifted her feet to rest them beside the younger girl's body, nudging her aside so she could also recline. Ava barely seemed to notice. She mumbled lowly something beneath her breath in Russian, then rolled over into the back of the couch. Natasha lay on the outside edge and closed her eyes. She'd definitely slept in worse places.
A feeling of safety washed over the super spy as she lay falling asleep in the safe house, protected by its remoteness as much as its security system. Natasha recalled taking a deep breath, then complete relaxation before a hideous face entered her purview. Natasha startled as if waking from a dream, but she didn't awake. Rather, she was surrounded by darkness and the looming face of a Nightmare focused in on her. Nat inwardly recoiled from his unsightly visage but outwardly stood tall. She was nothing if not well trained for such unexpected situations.
Natasha was greeted by the seemingly omnipresent voice calling her a "Traitor." Then she heard Ava's voice saying words she never heard the girl say outright to her face, but the Widow knew that Ava had always secretly been thinking. "I don't want to be like her I want to be better. She is an oath breaker. I met her a couple of times and she isn't as big a hype as you think she is." She said nothing in response to the figure looming over her. Rather, she listened. Much could be learned of an enemy through your silence, but little could be learned about you. One of the first things she learned was that this being liked to hear himself speak and obviously saw himself as being in control.
Natasha was thankful for the introduction, though. Had she not experienced it, she might have been more confused when he opened a door and thrust her into a room that very much resembled the ones at the Red Room where she grew up. The door slammed behind her, making little noise she guessed to anyone but her. A woman turned toward her and welcomed her. Natasha merely nodded at the person while her eyes quickly found the person she knew she would find: Ava. Natasha's jaw tensed as she readied for whatever this was going to be.
"Your prize?" she asked with hubris, not looking at the one who was obviously meant to be an instructor. Instead, her eyes never left her protege. "But I am merely an 'oath breaker.' Perhaps you've been misinformed?"

Ava was sweating like mad as the class continued as she put in the top of her effort. The scene she was in becoming ever more real to her. The girls, the instructor, the music all became her reality. She liked Niko but some of the other girls were a little more cruel to say the least. The instructor had punished her for odd slip ups and one point she landed heavily and fell but soon got up after blocking the stick.
She was still dancing when Natasha came in, completely transfixed by what was going on. It was not until she bumped into another girl who had stopped when the instructor spoke that she realised what was happening. As she turned to look at the instructor she frowned a little as a familiar but distant voice spoke.
If Natasha knew her true feelings for her and what her true anger was aimed at it would not have been her entirely - only a smidgen. Her glazed eyes blinked slowly as she locked eyes with Natasha. Was she too deep already, her mind was so confused. This couldn't be Natasha, not here, not now... this was her own training. The confused look relaxed into calm, a wash of distance as her own words were said at her from one person she really did care about but could never admit it.
Yet, Natasha was one of the same problem. Ava looked back to her instructor as if waiting for the next orders. She felt younger, as if the time on the streets had never happened. The calmness that Nightmare had put on her had lingered. Looking back at Natasha she knew that she would have to fight. The only way she could cope was to be distant.

Mortal fools! I am the Master of the Subconscious, the Midnight Leviathan... proof positive that the most precious of dreams too often fall prey to…Nightmare! ----------------------------------------- The instructor would look at Natasha letting off a small chuckle, “ Yes as you have been taught by Mother Russia… Your Oath to America, SHIELD, and the Avengers mean nothing. A mere disguise to collect information and be what you trained to be, a cold-blooded spy… The Black Widow” she would walk towards Ava and Niko grabbing them. Pushing them ahead of herself she would place them directly in front of Natasha smiling, “ This is Ava and this is Niko the two seem to lack that independent nature, they are weak… And worthless. No true spy can work efficiently and effectively when they care and show emotions, isn't that right Natasha?” she would go on to ask as she backed away. Just as the instructor was about to ask the girls to fight each other the door would burst open, a group of Males would walk in grabbing Niko. “ Now is the time… She's ready for the surgery[/font]” they would say as they rolled in the table to attempt to strap her on. “ No… NO, I WON'T GO!” Niko yelled as she started to fight the men, she easily took them down due to her advanced fighting. As she grabbed the final one taking them down she looked to Ava, “ Come on! Let's go, I know a way out!” she said, grabbing her comrades arm, running away and out the room. She knew she had to protect Ava and the only way to do that was to get back to her home, once back in the Kingdom of Coma, she could help return Ava back to her home safe. As she cut the corners she would look to see if any guards were coming, " Down this vent!" Niko would say opening it letting Ava in before following. “ Natasha get them!” the instructor would say looking to her

Ava moved forward but she didn't need to be pushed. The vacant expression lingered for a little longer until a slight frown creased her young forehead the more she looked at Natasha the more she was thinking something was wrong. However, as a fight kicked off she turned to watch what was going on, breaking the eye contact but one word slipped from her mind but was not said out loud and only one other person could hear it. A question and plea mixed with confusion.
"Sestra?!?"
Ava frowned at the commotion and uncertainty of what the operation would be. She knew of a few things the Red Room was capable of and she knew what could happen. Yet, it didn't seem right. As Niko fought then grabbed hold of Ava she went willingly, she was tired from all the dancing but that didn't matter. There was something in the girl's voice that made her go with her.
The further they went the more Ava started to come to figure out about what was going on. She frowned at Niko when she indicated the vent and shook her head.
"No, the Red Room will find us no matter where we go. It is time to stand and fight."
With that she turned and looked at the way they had come and readied herself to fight no matter who it was. She was so used to having Natasha in her dreams that it didn't seem real that she could actually be there in person. Neither of them had ever spoken about this side effect of their shared Red Room experience. This place had only caused misery to so many, BUT, it had created so many powerful women either through skill, talent, mutation or other. Thinking a little clearly stood her ground. Ava was no longer going to be anyone's puppet.
She lowered her stance and relaxed her fists. Her training more than knowledge from other means was telling her how do do this. Ava had her own skills but she still had not figured out they were hers. There wasn't going to be time to calm her breathing but at least she was going to be ready.

~+--------------~+--------------+~--------------+~
The woman - or the Puppet Master - attempted to confuse Natasha by stating she was, indeed, an oath breaker in that her promises to SHIELD and the Avengers meant nothing more than lip service provided to an enemy. Had it not been for the strong connections she formed through the Avengers and currently had with Tony, specifically, the former spy for Russia's top secret organization might have been more easily befuddled. As it was, she stared at the familiar face of a former teacher and knew well the visage came from her own mind. If the Manipulator of this hallucination - or whatever this was - intended to take Natasha from the solid footing she had found in as an agent of SHIELD and team member of the Avengers then he was going to have to work a lot harder. Though, that might not be the case with Ava.
The younger Widow stood beside her new friend against those who came to take her away "for surgery" and Nat wondered with some concern how deep Ava was in this reality. Ava had not been through as many mind-wipes and memory implants as Natasha had. She may not be as accustomed to enduring the new realities thrust upon her and was therefore more prone to falling prey to the illusion. The one thing that gave her some amount of hope was seeing her wordlessly mouth the pet word they called one another. "Sestra." Natasha even heard it in her mind as if the word had slipped from Ava's mouth - but the Widow knew instinctively that it hadn't. So, something was obviously getting through to her. Whatever it was, Nat would have to continue helping her fight!
The girls ran off, leaving the "doctors" looking a bit bewildered. The female instructor had no such look upon her face Rather, she looked at Natasha with command and instructed her to give chase. The independent woman nearly told her to go fetch herself, but thought better of it. Instead, she simply gave pursuit in silence, giving no indication whether she was giving chase of her own accord or on the other's orders. Let them wonder, she thought as she ran through the halls. It did not take long for her to catch up to the girls since they stopped and decided to make a stand. Natasha pulled up when she saw Ava and raised her hands.
"Ah, my little bird, you don't want to do this. Once they make you kill those you love, there is no return. You'd be wise not to fall to their ploy," she said. Nat hoped the implication that she remembered they were family would help Ava remember it, too. She looked at the other girl, not knowing if she was part of the plan to commit their minds to this new reality or if she was also a pawn. The Widow would not take the chance either way. She looked back to Ava directly. "Honestly, I am a little surprised you can run so quickly after such a large dinner." Natasha shrugged and approached the girls cautiously, not knowing what either of them might do yet. "Then again, so did I. I could get used to this - whatever 'this' is. Do you know?" Natasha looked pointedly at the other girl as if placing the enemy squarely in her crosshairs.
